PARALEGAL - Law Department (Litigation & Employment Section)
I provided support to two attorneys who had responsibility for managing
Lincoln's lawsuits and arbitrations. Under the direction of an attorney, I
resolved routine legal issues. I researched and analyzed sources of law
such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles and legal
codes to prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleading and appeals. I
have knowledge of commonly-used legal concepts, practices and procedures
within the field of insurance defense litigation. I assured that all
deadlines were met and that all materials necessary for the defense of the
lawsuit were in the hands of outside counsel on a timely basis. I made
certain that all interrogatories, document production requests, admissions
requests and similar discovery materials were channeled to the right
business person and those responses were prepared and filed on a timely
basis. I coordinated deposition requests and monitored the progress of the
case for both attorneys. I assured that all documentation was complete
before the case was closed. I received guidance and instruction from the
attorneys and was familiar with pre-established guidelines necessary to
perform the functions of my job.

and assured that deadlines were timely met. I processed timesheets for
attorneys and paralegals, processed correspondence and maintained
confidential litigation files. I coordinated travel arrangements and
reconciled associated charges. I processed invoices received from retained
counsel throughout the United States and coordinated regulatory reporting.

assisted him in the preparation and filing of pleadings and in his dealings
with clients. I also assisted in the maintenance of records and in the
processing of correspondence for all of these organizations. I did all of
this on a volunteer basis and a lot of it on my own time. I also assisted
two attorneys who were at different times President of Indiana Chapter of
the American Corporate Counsel Association with setting up seminars for the
Indiana Chapter. I corresponded with new members and seminars, including
