Internships (Clerical Experience)

I have had the opportunity to be involved in two Internships in my four

year college career.

The first was at a small church in Cairo, GA (Gordon Heights Baptist). At

Gordon Heights I was a full time youth minister for the months of summer.

As the summer youth intern I had the opportunity to lead all Bible study,

Sunday school, and Youth Vacation Bible School curriculum. I also had the

opportunity to accompany them on a Student Life trip for a week of those

summer months.

The second was a clerical and ministry position at a medical mission in

Columbus, GA. I worked with an administrator writing several policies and

procedures and putting together new charts and manuals. I was the first

person patients spoke with on the phone and saw when they entered the

clinic. I scheduled all appointments and was committed to building

relationship with all patients. I had the opportunity to learn how a free

medical clinic was run and to be a part of the first year of the clinic

including financial and eligibility screenings. I also had the opportunity

to put together a basic volunteer training manual for those servants who

would choose to come and serve.
