Creativity and 'thinking on your feet' was required to market this
beautifully unique property. Sound business decisions had to be made
quickly, to fill the customers need; using flexibility in office design,
location in building, equipment, design, price, etc., to provide solutions.
Strategy was beginning to redefine the office environment and broaden the
market with qualified customers.
Marketing / Sales:
o Leased numerous office suites which involved deal making in
the competitive GR market to drive new business.
o Designed and implemented a successful referral program that
was designed to be a personal networking tool to attract new
tenants. The program was an opportunity to gain sales by
utilizing a field sales 'face to face' approach to recruit
potential new lessees. This program was designed to
incentivize our current tenants by offering them a referral
fee (free months rent) with each new tenant they brought in.
The same program was offered to outside friends &
acquaintances, offering a five hundred to one thousand dollar
'gift' based on the size office suite leased. Overall this
program was successful, as we able to lease numerous office
suites in the GR market, which is heavily saturated with
office space. We were on the right track to rent office
space.
o Website design: worked closely with our advertising agency to
create an inviting image directed at our target market, which
encompassed an independent sales representative, an
entrepreneur who is interested in a classy image or a small
office manager wanting to increase productivity with an
inviting, prosperous image and surrounding lakefront beauty.
o Print Advertising and Public Relations in local newspapers,
such as; Grand Rapids Press, Advance, and The Business
Journal.
o Signage:
. Billboard: Directed design with our advertising agency, by
using few words and a picture to capture the atmosphere and
the beauty/feeling.
. Roadside signs printed with name and number to gain
awareness and fill immediate office needs.
. Management:
o Coordinated the office suite cleaning, common area design,
building repairs/maintenance and monthly billing.
o Handled Urgent Needs; such as Internet, supplies, equipment,
etc.
o Oversaw Individual office suite layout & design; furniture,
such as desk, chairs, credenzas, also, filing cabinets,
marker boards, telephones, office equipment and tasteful
office accessories. Custom office suite designs to enhance
productivity and individual needs; in addition, the common
area design.
o Financial - Budgeting expenses and cost cutting; taking a
critical look at expenses

Job Title: Owner / Property Manager
Troubleshooting and face-to-face public relations; miscellaneous issues
such as; follow thru with requests/repairs, addressing complaints and
individual financial challenges.
. Responsible for monthly invoicing. Duties included; invoicing tenants
for their allotted rent/expense amounts. Each tenant had a specific
rental agreement that required custom invoicing. Streamlined the
process to be consistent monthly amounts to be reconciled at year end
ultimately reducing time and effort to distribute invoices.
. Leasing vacant space using signage, calling on potential tenants or
working with commercial real estate brokers

Brookshire Meadows East is my family's business which gave me an early
education and interest in 'property management'. My adult interest is in
