As a Processing Lead, my immediate job function was to maintain a
continuous f low of production between my department and packaging.
Keeping efficiencies high and quality issues minimal was also a must.
P rimary tasks included, but not limi ted to, communicating and working
with all departments throughout the plant, acting as a coach and a
developer to other employees, having strong inner-personal
relationships with co-workers and fellow supervisors, using discipline as
needed for corrective action, and t roubleshooting and brainstorming
through problems to make effective decisions. Secondary functions
include developing a daily schedule that coincides with customer orders,

As a Smokehouse Operator, my direct duties were the loading,
monitoring, and unloading of beef, chicken, pork sausage, and jerky
products. While monitoring these products, certain tests such as pH,
metal detecting, A.W.’s, and moisture’s were needed to be conducted in
compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
T he nature of the job required working in temperatures in excess of 200
degrees Fahrenheit throughout the shift, pushing and pulling up to 1,500
pounds at any given time, stacking boxes weighing 50-75 pounds
repeatedly, batching raw sausage and jerky batter for further processing,
and working overtime was a must. In the event of certain situations,
part-time lead was a secondary job function.
