Marketing-related Projects

CONSUMER RESEARCH: This was my senior seminar project, and for this class

we were required to examine previous research on a topic. I went a step

further and conducted primary research on my chosen topic as well. I

researched how artwork influences consumer perception, and created a study

of my own regarding artwork on websites and how it changes consumer

perception. I created two fictional websites, designed and conducted a

survey, and later collected and analyzed the data. The program SPSS

(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) was used to find

relationships in the data.

ROCKWOOD GARDENS: Our client for this project was a small florist/garden

center in La Crosse called Rockwood Gardens. We designed a promotional

plan that included ideas like billboard advertising, partnering with local

home shows, business card magnets, and updating their website.

BUSINESS RESEARCH: Research project where my team worked with a popular

student newspaper, called The Second Supper, to conduct extensive research

about its readers. Our research led to the newspaper making several

important changes in both its content and design.

INFORMATION SYSTEMS: Our client was a downtown bar named Top Shots. We

designed a program to keep track of pool league games, individual and team

scores and statistics. The client was extremely pleased with the program

and implemented it immediately.

VALLEY VIEW MALL: My team researched the La Crosse University student

population to determine what students think of the Valley View Mall. We

created our research questions, administered surveys online, and collected

and analyzed the data. From respondents' answers, we were able to make

several suggestions that would increase student traffic to the Mall. For

example, the internet is the main source of information for students so ads

directed at that segment should use the web as a medium.
