This is a call center position doing computer technical support for the
Transportation Security Administration.
. Used a ticketing system to record notes and details from every call.
. Assisted in Active Directory password resets, and email management via
Outlook Exchange.
. Walked clients through detailed processes for troubleshooting network
problems, email problems, and sometimes hardware problems as well.
I'm always looking for new opportunities so though happy at my job, I'd
love to find something a little more hands-on and technical. I love
helping people out via the phone, but ideally I'd like to do it myself, I
like to be hands-on when it comes to this stuff, and teach the
customer/client at the same time.

Saw an opportunity to make money in mid 2007 by posting an ad in newspapers
and on websites for PC repair and PC design. Gave customers the
opportunity to have someone come to them to fix their PC or build them a
new one in order to meet their specific needs. Work performed on hundreds
of jobs include mostly:
. Diagnosing problems with software, and hardware and replacing or removing
as necessary.
. Building new PC's to meet customers needs including gaming rigs, video
editing systems, and basic office PC's.
. Installing new software including operating systems, anti-virus
applications, video editing software, office software. Far too many
items to list.
. Installing external devices such as hard drives, printers, monitors,
speakers, etc.
. Diagnosing and repairing problems with internet connectivity and/or in-
home/in-business networking including printer sharing, file sharing,
mapping network drives, setting up email exchange servers, and wireless
devices.
UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE - Salt Lake City, UT 7/08 to 3/09
Data Entry, 7/08 to 3/09
. Entered address information into government system and maintained some of
the highest data entry statistical ratings among all employees. Typing
speed matched with a 95+ percent accuracy rating made for very efficient
performance.
Reason for separation was due to a large amount of layoffs that I happened
to be a part of.
COMFORT SOLUTIONS / UINTAH GAS FIREPLACES - Ogden, UT 3/07 to 7/08
I.T. Administration, 3/07 to 7/08
PC/Laptop Repair & Maintenance, 3/07 to 7/08
Microsoft Office Suite (2003/2007), 3/07 to 7/08
Networking/Server Maintenance, 3/07 to 7/08
I took this job as a possible I.T. administrative opportunity. My first
task was to build a new I.T. system and help this small business conduct
their in-office tasks more efficiently. After successfully building an
effective system, I was given more duties. From start to finish, this job
included much of the following:
. Installing and maintaining the system server PC (software, & hardware)
. Maintaining all I.T. related issues including laptop/PC hardware &
software installation, hardware & software problems, and system
connectivity issues. Also setup multiple network-shared printers and
scanners.
. Designing extensive Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheets to keep
statistics for all sales personnel, and sales tracking. I also designed
a spreadsheet that would generate payroll data directly into QuickBooks.
Reason for separation was due to work slowing down and having to pursue
other opportunities. I still help Comfort Solutions from time to time with
new spreadsheet projects, and PC problems that they are unable to fix.
TITANIUM SOLUTIONS - Salt Lake City, UT 8/04 to 3/07
PC/Laptop Repair & Maintenance, 1/05 to 3/08
Microsoft Office Suite (2003/2007), 1/05 to 3/08
Networking/Server Maintenance, 1/05 to 3/08
Data Entry, 8/04 to 1/05
This job began as a Data Entry job and after proving my skills in other
computer-related areas I was moved into a Business Analyst position &
assistant to the I.T. Administrator. Titanium Solutions is one of the
world's largest loss-mitigation companies and assist millions of home
buyers every year in saving their homes from being foreclosed on. Once I
moved into the analytical position and I.T. assistant, I performed many
tasks including:
. Setting up and maintaining new employee PC's. I was responsible for
setting up the desks of new hires.
. Performed weekly data back-ups of our system server
. Set up printer sharing and file sharing
. Designed extremely extensive spreadsheets for some of the country's
largest mortgage companies. These spreadsheets included statistical data
and performance information of the work being done by Titanium Solutions
for homeowners with mortgages through each company. When first given the
analytical job, this was a 4 hour process. I simplified this process by
completely rebuilding the spreadsheet and turned it into a 30 minute
process. This meant more time to focus on other tasks and helping with
the overall efficiency of the Business Analyst position.
. Designed a spreadsheet for calculating payroll information for thousands
of employees across the country. Based on information received by
Titanium Solutions, my spreadsheet would calculate money earned, bonuses,
and helped keep track of job performance levels.
The reason for separation from this employer is quite difficult to explain.
I'd be happy to share information regarding this matter during an
interview as it would be much easier to do so.

My second job in website design began as a favor to a family friend and
quickly grew into a new found passion. I had been designing personal
websites in the past, prior to this, so I offered to help my friend in
promoting his race team. It ended up being much more than that, and is now
one of Utah's most visited racing-related websites; not to mention the only
one to date that hosts weekly footage of the teams' performance. Here are
the main responsibilities I take care of at HaleRacing.com:
. Complete design of every page, & logo included in the website.
. Maintaining the domain name and all domain name email addresses.
. Writing weekly articles that keep the public informed on the events that
occurred each weekend that the team raced.
. Videotaping every event and then editing it to be website viewable. This
means encoding files and compressing them to be viewable by the public on
both low and high speed internet connections.
. Design of a spreadsheet that calculates the amount of points earned each
week after a race event is final. This job is performed so that the team
is aware of where they finished in the overall point standings as soon as
possible without having to wait for track officials to calculate them.
The spreadsheet has been proven accurate week in and week out and was
even used to help the official track scorekeeper's correct errors they
had made.
Education and Training
DAVIS APPLIED TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE - Kaysville, UT 9/10 to
Present
Information Technology (Network Administrator)
I am currently enrolled in the DATC's Information Technology program for
becoming a Network Administrator. This will include multiple
certifications in Cisco Networking Systems, including Security, Wireless,
and Voice. I will also be earning multiple Microsoft certifications. Many
of these are in relation to Windows Server 2008, Vista, and Windows 7.
This is only half of what I'll be learning and what I will soon become
certified in. I'm hoping after completing this course, the job
opportunities will skyrocket. I've finally saved the money to go back to
school and better mine and my family's future, and I'm happy to say I've
taken the next step in doing just that.
SELF TRAINING PC HARDWARE & SOFTWARE - Layton, UT 12/97 to

See "Areas of Expertise" Above, 12/97 to Present
Ever since I got my hands on my first personal computer in 1997, I had a
passion for them. All I wanted to do was learn, experiment, and
troubleshoot. The internet was a very new technology and computers weren't
exactly a household item quite yet. I was just 13, but my desire to learn
was through the roof. It didn't take long before I was hardware
troubleshooting, installing new software, and learning everything I
possibly could. By 2000, I was building computers for friends and family,
and soon after I was an ace with both hardware and software troubleshooting
and diagnosing. When new operating systems came out, I would try to get my
hands on them as soon as possible to learn all that I could before another
new one would replace it. Computers became my one true desire and I don't
see that changing anytime soon. To this day I am building PC's,
troubleshooting hardware & software problems and love nothing more than
assisting others and helping them to learn as well. Although my training
is not from a trained professional; my years of experience in computers has
helped me to become confident in what I do for others, and certain that I
can take care of their computer-related issues, no matter how hard the
task.
DAVIS APPLIED TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE - Kaysville, UT 5/03 to 7/03
General Education Development
I successfully earned my G.E.D. in only a few months through a very good
training course at the D.A.T.C. This was definitely something I had a lot
of passion in doing after unsuccessfully completing high school.
Goals, Hobbies, Interests, All About Me
FAMILY
Ever since getting married in 2009 to the greatest woman in the world, I've
had a newfound passion for family. Being raised by a single parent, and
being the only child in the home, I didn't get a lot of family-related
experiences. That all changed after I met my wife and started spending
time with her and her family. Right away I knew it was something I wanted
to be a part of. My biggest goal in life is to be a good provider for my
family. I want to be able to have children and see to it that their future
is better than mine, and that they are as successful and healthy as
possible. I want my wife to be able to have her own salon in the home, and
take care of the kids as she does what she loves most... doing hair and
helping her clients. I know I have a long way to go, but I promised
myself, and my wife that I'd never give up on our dreams. I plan to prove
it.
AUTO RACING / AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY
Thanks to my family, I have had a passion for auto racing, and anything car-
related since I was a kid. I began acting on my interest at the age of 17
when I was able to pay for my first car. Not even a year later, my
interest became a hobby and I spent a lot of time working on the car to
make it "my own." I made it unique to my liking and as fast as I could
afford to make it. A few years later I ran into trouble with it, and chose
to start on a new project. This project began in 2006 and is still going
strong today. It's a hobby and passion I'll never give up on, and
something I feel is very helpful to come home to after a stressful day at
work.
As far as auto racing goes; it's something I attend to almost every weekend
during the summer. Being a part of Hale Racing has been one of the best
things I've ever been a part of. I provide my technology smarts to help
the team advertise itself for possible sponsors. Currently we are one of
the only automotive racing teams in Utah with a website and Facebook Fan
page for fans to post comments and show their support for the team. I made
all of this possible after long discussions with the team owner and driver
and showing them how to get the teams name out into the world. The fan
base has boomed over recent years and as we continue to travel, more and
more fans continue to show interest.
COMPUTERS
As stated above in my personal training, I've always loved computers and
I'm sure I always will. I have exceptional patience with computers and the
people that run them, so when it comes to helping people with them, I
absolutely love it. I hope I can someday run my own computer repair
business. You work too long during life to not love what you're doing.
ORGANIZED
Ever since I began playing with computers, I quickly realized how important
it was for me to stay organized. The more organized I was, the faster I
accomplished things, and the more accurate my work was. If I lost focus
and let myself get unorganized, it was likely I'd have to do the work over
again. I believe if you organize things prior to beginning the job, you'll
sail through it a whole lot easier, with much less stress.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
I think that with organization skills, you have to have a great amount of
attention to detail. I believe being organized and having a high
attentiveness to detail; your work will be that much more accurate. I love
being detailed with my work. When working with numbers, I like to be as
precise as possible. There's no sense in leaving out information that
could make statistics more detailed and accurate. It's the small details
that make the difference in quality work. Attention to detail is huge in
every aspect of life... work, family, everything.
EAGER TO SUCCEED
I have always had the desire to be successful in life. Without that desire
and passion, I don't think I would have ever had an interest in the
computer world. I started learning at a young age, and couldn't help but
want to learn more. I had a drive and passion that would often keep me up
well into the morning hours. I'd get some involved in something that I
couldn't take my mind off of it enough to get even an hour's worth of
sleep. The same still holds true to do. I'm passionate about my work
ethic, and I strive to complete the job as quickly and accurately as
possible. The better I am at that, the more likely I am to succeed even
more in the future. It's a habit I'm not ashamed to admit I have, and it's
one I plan on keeping well into my retirement years. Without the passion
and desire to be successful, what is there to look forward to in life?
