Repair, Retrofit and Modification Technician 3
As a technician for the Boeing Service Company, I was part of numerous
successful test flights for the GMD program in the Marshall Islands and
Vandenberg AFB, Ca. I supported engineering in the testing of electrical
and mechanical connections in the missile control room and the silo
ensuring an on schedule launch time. I worked at Fort Greely, Alaska in the
test and emplacement of three stage solid fuel tactical missiles comprised
of guidance, telemetry and propulsion systems in support of the GMD
program.
All electrical connections in the testing process are derived from
drawings, schematics, and functional diagrams. I conducted numerous peer
reviews of processes and procedures resulting in a cost savings of several
thousand dollars. I am highly skilled in electricity, electronics,
hydraulics, and pneumatics.
June 1998- June 2000
SCI Systems, Inc.
As a production line technician, I modified production line conveyor
systems to meet new product demands which resulted in an on schedule
delivery of our products. Job included repair of electrical, pneumatic
drive systems.
July 1989- March 1997
U.S. Navy
As the lead Chief Petty Officer (1989-1993), I was responsible for
leadership and managing of 35 personnel daily in the operation and
maintenance of MK 26 surface to air missile launch system on a nuclear
cruiser. I scheduled preventive maintenance of missile magazines, missile
launcher component systems on a daily basis. I also scheduled daily systems
check of all onboard missiles for proper operation.
I served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm during this time.
1993 to 1997
I was assigned to the Fleet Technical Support Center Pacific, in Pearl
Harbor, Hi. As the Chief Petty Officer my job included on board training
and instruction of shipboard personnel in the repair of naval gun
and missile systems for Pacific Fleet Assets. I was flown to and from
battle groups for emergency repairs to MK 45 light weight gun systems and
MK 26 surface to air missile system achieving a high state of readiness for
the battle group during Operation Desert Storm.
November 1984- July 1989
U.S. Navy
As a Naval Gun System Instructor at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center,
I was responsible for the
Instruction and hands on training of students. I taught the MK45
lightweight gun system and the MK26 surface to air missile system. I re-
wrote all curriculum updating system requirements and procedures for the
MK45 gun system, MK10 terrier, and the MK26 surface to air missile system.
