CONTRACT PHLEBOTOMIST: May 2009 - Current

Phlebotomy is performed on subjects for the purpose of determining

the safety of clinical trial medications. Within a predetermined time-line

and using the standard order of draw method, up to 120 venipunture sticks

are performed daily. Also assist in urine collection, laboratory

processing of blood via centrifuging, freezing or refrigeration.

Phlebotomist: August 2005 - December 2009

Within nursing care facilities, assisted living communities and skilled

care settings phlebotomy is performed. Duties include venipuncture using a

straight needle or butterfly needle with or without a syringe, blood

cultures, direct communication with nursing staff regarding lab order

requests and verifying all information is accurate (ICD9 codes, client's

info). Patient identity is obtained, privacy is provided and phlebotomy

techniques are rendered. Specimens are also processed via centrifuging and

are transported back to the main laboratory for the purpose of

hematological study.
