Summary
To obtain full time employment in the field of aerospace engineering that
will challenge me to utilize my education and experience to develop into a
valuable resource for the company.
Education
Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering
Iowa State University - Ames, IA
May, 2010
Work Experience
Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Sauer Dan Foss
May 2010 - Current (Summer Internship)
. Build hydraulic motor and gear pump units for customers such as
Bobcat, John Deere and Caterpillar.
. Understand the feasibilities of production and quality
. Revised inventory and familiarity with delivery of products
Engineering Intern
OMI CARIBE Sewer Plant - Fajardo, PR
Summer 2006
. Assisted the lead engineer perform the daily task to keep the plant
running
. This involved running and monitoring computer program models to keep
track of all the machinery, repair damaged parts of the machinery and
collecting and testing water samples to make sure the water exiting
the plant was non-contaminated
Sales and Retail Associate
JC Penney, Ames IA
May 2008- May 2010
. Retailing, shoe specialist providing customer service
. Assist and communicate with day to day customers who visit the store
Project Experience
Composite Cargo Technology Demonstrator for the US Air Force
. Designed a multi-mission composite cargo aircraft with a fuselage and
wings made out of carbon fiber which has great STOL performance and
speed agility and also operates in small bases and improvised landing
zones.
. Computer programs such as MATLAB and FORTRAN were used to calculate
the service ceiling and absolute ceiling of the aircraft, as well as
calculating the landing and takeoff capabilities of the aircraft.
Composite Flight Structures
. Worked with composite materials such as epoxy, glass and foam to
construct a water ski that will be lighter, perform better, and have
higher buoyancy over traditional water-skis.
. An ANSYS computational analysis was used to calculate the maximum
stresses throughout the composite ski.
. Lab tests were also performed to confirm maximum stresses.
Freeze Proof Livestock Waterer
. Designed a waterer that feeds water to 100 unit animals in the extreme
cold temperatures of the upper states without freezing.
. The equipment is low cost and uses technologies such as: Wind Energy,
Geo-Thermal Energy and Solar Energy to keep it from freezing.
. A FORTRAN code was created to calculate all the operational cost and
total cost of the unit and used Solid Works to design the model.
Computer and Relevant Skills
. FORTRAN, Mat lab, Solid Works, ANSYS
. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
. Excellent interpersonal communication skills
. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as
independently
. Fluent in written and Spoken Spanish
.
