Manage the activities of the Section that consists of approximately 50-75 employees on or off of
Federal deployment.
Supervise the Section's units, units supervised include: Communications, Supply, Facilities,
Equipment, Pharmacy, Security, Hazmat, and Dietary.
Carry out a full range of supervisory duties including the preparation of performance evaluations
for assigned personnel, ordering supplies and equipment using government form 60-1, and use
other forms as necessary.
Implement and manage an efficient supply management program to fill the needs of AZ-1
stateside, en-route to and at the site of a disaster or major emergency.
Provide overall guidance and supervison of procurement activities.
Supervise loading and transportation of the DMAT equipment cache.
Determine Section’s staffing and logistical needs and request additional resources as necessary.
Determine an acceptable equipment cache storage site upon arrival, plan and execute the
physical layout to facilitate proper DMAT operations.
Ensure the setup of the DMAT equipment cache and supervise the issuance of supplies and
equipment.
Review and analyze requests for AZ-1 DMAT's supplies and equipment.
Establish ordering procedures in consultation with the Administrative Chief and the MST
Logistics Chief.
Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions as needed within the Section.
Investigate and submit documentation on lost or destroyed property to the Accountable Property
Officer and the MST Logistics Chief for the purpose of accountability and replacement.
Maintain the level of supplies and equipment necessary to accomplish the team mission at all
times during the deployment.
Develop transportation resources and coordinate transportation schedules to ensure a sufficient
number of vehicles are available for transport to the assigned location as well as while on site.
Responsible for the equipment and supply inventory to include the implementation and
maintenance of an up-to-date logistical tracking system that maintains an accountability of
supplies and equipment expended and distributed from the cache.
Coordinate transportation of the NDMS cache with transport officials when applicable.
Receive briefings and ensure that all Logistics personnel are kept informed of mission objectives
and status changes.
Provide situation updates to the supervisor and maintain records of Logistics activity.
Perform other duties as required to facilitate efficient logistical operations for AZ-1 DMAT
including working as the Custodial Officer and Hazmat transportation representative.
