Objective I am seeking full time, permanent, and stable
employment. This resume is intended as a general
overview of my experience and qualifications. I do
hope to find a position where above average
intelligence, excellent writing, research, and
communication skills, and a strong work ethic will
be beneficial to both myself and a prospective
employer. However, I also hope that my solid
experience in other areas will be taken into
consideration for employment as well. I have worked
as an archaeologist for the last five years and
would like to stay within the discipline, but the
current economy has rendered suitable archaeology
work very unstable. Thus, I am seeking employment
in other areas where work and pay may be more
consistent. I believe my knowledge and experience
would qualify me for employment in industries such
as environmental, forestry, historical/cultural
research, or the railroad. Should you need a
reliable, hardworking, conscientious, and
intelligent employee, I hope you will consider my
interest and qualifications.
Functional
summary I have solid experience in all phases and aspects
of field archaeology and I am particularly adept at
the hard physical labor involved, in often harsh
environments.
I have excellent research and writing skills as is
relevant to achieving a Master's Degree in history,
conducting archaeological research, and as a
lifetime of interest in history, archaeology,
literature and philosophy would dictate. In
relation to this, I have very good computer skills
(MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
I have a great deal of experience in landscape
design, installation, and maintenance, and have
pursued this independently during different periods
throughout my life, and particularly as a college
student.
I have also worked (10+ years) in the industrial
coatings field-sand blasting, painting,
rubber-linings, and metal-spray-with experience in
both maintenance and new construction, largely in
power and chemical plants and using a variety of
pneumatic/electric tools, and forklifts; rigging
and bolting-up vessels for steam cure.
I have experience working at an historic
site/museum, giving tours, lectures and visitor
orientation, as well as performing site
maintenance.
I also have 6+ years experience in library science
working in a large, university library.
