Having worked in the senior industry for the past 3 years, I have
participated in the Northern Illinois Senior Expo and the Alzheimer's
Memory Walk, as well as other community service/marketing events including
several senior health and wellness fairs. I coordinated events, organized
staff and prepared my facility as a host site for the Dekalb County
Progressive Tour. I attend the ADMIT networking group and have hosted
NICC.
From September 2009, through November, I was the Director of Community
Relations at The Atrium, an assisted living facility in Rockford. On
January 8, 2010, I accepted the position as Executive Director at The Grand
Victorian of Sycamore. As director I was responsible for managing the day
to day operations of the facility, adhering to Illinois state regulations,
work within department budgets for the facility and sales/marketing
resulting in an occupancy rate between 96 and 100 percent.
From August 2007 until August 2009, I was the staffing supervisor/client
care coordinator at Home Instead Senior Care. I was responsible for
scheduling 24-hour caregivers for live in cases and conducting quality
assurance visits in client's homes on a weekly rotational basis. I
responded to incoming inquiries from potential clients, following up with
literature and seeing that they were contacted as quickly as possible by
the community services coordinator. I also conducted service calls and
introductions between client and caregiver. I was actively involved in
several community service and marketing events as well.
From November 2005 through May 2007 I worked as a staffing supervisor/human
resource assistant. I was responsible for recruiting, pre-qualifying and
testing, conducting interviews, hiring and orientation of temporary and
temp-to-hire employees. I worked for Snelling Staffing, Kelly Services, and
Staff Management as on site staffing coordinator at client locations, where
I processed large volume payroll in addition to my other staffing
responsibilities,
From March 2004 through November 2005 I was employed by Great Oaks
Apartments as the bookkeeper. I was responsible for collecting and posting
monthly rent, issuing demands for payment, filing of eviction documents and
representing Great Oaks through subsequent court action. I was also
responsible for preparing lease documents, showing available units to
prospective lessees and all other administrative functions as required.
From 2000 to until 2004 I provided private senior care for a family member.
I began working in the staffing industry in 1998 for Pro Staff as an on-
site staffing supervisor for a major communications company in Rockford.
As part of a two-man team, I supervised up to 95 contract employees,
recruited and pre-qualified potential employees, processed payroll and
worked closely with client management to assure that staffing levels were
maintained
From 1997 until 1998 I worked temporary assignments which included a
variety of accounting functions including an accounts payable audit. I also
worked for a senior service agency assisting the elderly in applying for
available benefits.
From 1985 until 1997 I worked in the accounting field as a full charge
bookkeeper. I left the accounting industry for 4 years to care for my
daughter and provide child care for other children in my home.
Attended Rock Valley College 1984; completed Principles of Accounting I.
Attended Rockford East High School; completed General Education Diploma.
