Resource functions to the 256th Infantry Brigade (IBCT) while reinforcing support to installation agencies
at VBC Baghdad, Iraq. Responsible for all personnel, public affairs, finance support, evaluations,

Battalion providing Combat Service Support (CSS) and all Human Resource functions to the 1st Combat
Support Brigade (CSB) while reinforcing support to Fort Polk. Responsible for all personnel, public affairs,
finance support, evaluations, promotions, awards, retention, career progression, recruitment, retirement,
postal operations, medical support, legal actions, leaves and passes as well as the health and welfare of
four Non Commissioned Officers and three junior enlisted personnel. Managed all administrative and
personnel actions for six subordinate companies. Additional responsibilities included all personnel matters
related to preparing subordinate units to deploy in support of the Global War on Terrorism, as well as
coaching, teaching and mentoring the leaders and soldiers within the section with a focus on preparing to
deploy worldwide and provide additional Human Resource support for up to eight subordinate units and
1500 personnel.

Commander with full authority, responsibility, supervision and oversight for all aspects of Personnel
Service Support and property for a deployable Personnel Services Detachment in areas as assigned.
Planned, managed, and formulated policies for the organization. Advised the supported commands and
battalion command group on all military policies and procedures. Managed diverse military personnel
services and programs for service members; approved and disapproved leave; received formal grievances
to include Congressional inquiries, resolving those that can be resolved at the first full supervisory level.

Primary planner for personnel operations and execution of mobilization and contingency operations for
general’s staff and provided oversight of mobilization, operational planning and personnel operations
issues at the installation level. During contingencies, acted as a liaison to Forces Command and the Joint
Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, for all personnel plans, operations and personnel reporting.
Prepared budget of personnel operations, represented staff at installation level meetings, briefed
Commanding General and staff on personnel readiness, advised managers on organizational policies and
procedures and recommended changes, planned, directed, supervised and coordinated work activated
relating to personnel operation functions, maintained records and compiled statistical data and reports
concerning personnel related data and allocated human resources, ensuring appropriate matches
between personnel. Developed military personnel management portions of installation mobilization plans,
systems and procedures to ensure mobilization and deployment readiness; prepared staff studies and
information papers to disseminate program information; provided guidance, interpretations, training and
briefings on current and proposed policies for assigned military personnel action programs to subordinate
commands and installation personnel agencies.
