Stock Direct was a new web based trading system being launched by the

company. The backend of which was Oracle. The intended purpose of the

product was to enable customers to do online trading, fund and share

transfers with SHCIL taking care of the settlement. It was a three-way hand

shake between leading brokers, national and international banks and SHCIL

as the crux of Stock Direct. The customers had online services such as

account opening, checking their funds and security positions, routing the

order to the broker of their choice and buying or selling the shares of

their choice, the company would in turn do the necessary fund and share

movements for the customer.
