Cashier/Sales Associate- There were three sections inside the store
and I was trained in every section: running the cash registers; pricing
and putting out merchandise; opening and closing all sections of the
store; tallying the weekly receipts; handling the money drops; running
bank deposits; selling shoes on commission bases; selling furniture;
ordering and entering in new merchandise into the computers; renting
out and checking back in videos. My experience in customer service also
includes helping customers find and try on merchandise; handling returns
and exchanges; helping customers out to their car and calling
customers on the video store late list.

Volunteer- I volunteered weekly for a few months at the Newport Food Bank
while in high school. My duties included: Handling and serving customers;
filing paperwork; assisting customers in filling out paperwork; faxing,
copying, data entry, stocking food shelves; sweeping and vacuuming.

Bookkeeper- I trained in book keeping for a small
business.
I learned many aspects of the QuickBooks Software,
including accounts receivable and accounts payable,
and reconciling the bank statements. I also learned to
answer the phone in a professional manner, take
messages, serve customers, file paperwork, data entry
and organization.
Newport Public Library 07/2002 - 07/2005
Volunteer- I volunteered at the Newport Public
Library each summer for three years while they held the
Newport Summer Reading Program. My duties
included: Setting up the craft tables; preparing the
materials; making samples for the children; reading aloud and
organizing games. I assisted the children as they made their
crafts; passed out lunches and then cleaned up
afterward.
Skills: Eight plus years in customer service, basic
computer skills. Clerical work: typing, filing,
labeling, using a 10 key, data entry. Two plus
years working in sales and learning the sales process. Organization and
mentoring.
