Engineering Technician, CAD Draftsman

Principal support for design and manufacturing engineering for a hearing

assistance manufacturer. Built and tested prototypes which included IR,

Audio, RF (HF & VHF) and power supply topologies. Created DoE's&

maintained accurate records (electronic and notebook) using strict

laboratory discipline. Data collection for many experiments used computer

automation. Drafted schematics and performed PCB layout using Eagle

schematic/PCB CAD software. PCB's developed were multi-layer SMT/PTH,

noise and cross-talk sensitive; hybrid analog, RF and digital topologies.

Highly proficient in the use of shielding techniques, multiple ground

planes and design rules. Primary engineer of a multiple bay, micro

controlled NiMH battery charger. Project included schematic capture, PCB

layout, photo plot files and code for the PIC micro. Participated in FCC

part 15, CE and TUV testing. Lead team for RoHS conversion. Built testing

Designs included a high voltage optical control/safety interlock, a gun

servo simulator and others.

Responsible for manufacturing throughput of magnetic tape storage products

in an ISO 9000 facility. Developed test fixtures and jigs using custom

design and off the shelf products. Designs included application specific

PCB's created with OrCAD/PADS software. A number of projects required

multi layer boards that were noise and cross talk sensitive

instrumentation. Conceptualized a laser curtain tape travel measurement

fixture that resolved movement in nanometers. Responsible for training of

operators, maintaining records to ISO standards. Member of ECO, EDO team.

Ensured manufacturing compliance to ISO standards.

digital matrix intercom manufacturer. Duties included fabrication of test

fixtures, continuation engineering and integration of computer controlled
