I clear title as necessary, carefully document and follow through negotiations to successful completion or referral for Eminent Domain processing.
Hanson Professonal Services, Inc. Land Acquisition Manager – 2001-2010
I was the Land Acquisition Manager for the South Suburban Airport Project in Will County, Illinois. I directed a staff of negotiation/relocation specialists and paralegals in the acquisition of land for this politically and environmentally sensitive 20,000 acre project.
I also served as the Site Acquisition Manager for the build out of the Hoosier Safe-T Communications Project for the State of Indiana, a 130+ site statewide 911 emergency enhancement program.
TELECOMMINICATIONS SITE DEVELOPMENT - Project Director – 1995-2001
Project Director for site acquisition and development of mobile telecommunications deployment projects for several major carriers in the Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City markets, plus regional projects in New England, Update New York, New Jersey and Texas. Clients included Nextel, Omnipoint, Voicestream, AT&T, Primeco (US Cellular) and Verizon. In most markets, I was also responsible for the Zoning and permitting presentations before regulatory agencies.
PIPELINE PROJECTS Right-of-Way Manager – 1988-1995
Beginning as Permit Manager, I was soon promoted to Right-of-Way Manager for several major long-distance fiber-optic and natural gas projects in several states. All projects were completed on time. I prepared for and testified at condemnation proceedings as necessary. I was also responsible for clearing damage claims from property owners. I recruited and trained right-of-way agents for these projects and assisted corporate offices with business development proposals for additional work assignments.
LAND DEVELOPMENT AND HOME BUILDING – Project manager – 1977-1988
I served as the project manager for large scale home building and land development projects in the Los Angeles and Sacramento areas of California and the west coast of Florida. I was responsible for land acquisition, financing, permitting and some marketing of the properties. I was employed by The Mayer Group in Los Angeles, Dunmore Development in Sacramento and Equivest in Florida.
URBAN PLANNING POSITIONS – 1968-1977
Upon Graduation from college, I joined the City of Los Angeles Planning Department and eventually moved to a higher level planning position in Thousand Oaks, California. I also served as an urban planning project manager for the private consulting firms of DMJM and Summa Corporation.
