OVERVIEW

A Process/Quality Engineering professional with experience and passion for:

Launching New products, Process Development, Quality Planning, Product

Development, Gauging and Fixture Design. I am looking for a stimulating

position in the Quality Engineering of Product/Process Development and

Launching Product using Lean Technologies.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Atwood Mobile Products August 2009 to August 2010

Manufacturing Engineer:

Responsibilities: All new tooling acquisitions and current tooling

revisions. Initiated and implemented the 5S program including process flow

improvement and lean initiatives to make room for new manufacturing product

line. Developed and planned new assembly line by: coordinated all tools

and equipment for a new assembly line, while conducting prototype builds

and design reviews to improve manufacturability. Cost Reductions achieved

through MRO reduction, energy conservation, and creative tooling and

fixture designs to reduce labor. Implemented design changes to current

product through change control and tooling acquisition.

Autoliv Safety Products

Process Quality Engineer, Inflatable Curtain Dept:

March 2007 to March 2009

Responsibilities: Launching of new product while initiating process and

quality improvements on existing production lines. Interfacing with

customers to resolve issues, along with creation and maintenance of Control

Plans and Standardized Work Instructions, Production Part Approval Process,

and Kaizen suggestion implementation.

. Awarded Seamless Launch: recognition for reaching program launch goals.

. Recognized and awarded for launching new assembly line in a record 7

months.

. Won platinum status for the number Kaizens implemented. (Doubled

goal).

. Conducted team oriented deep dives on all production cells.

. Reduced Line Minutes per Unit by 20% and consistently beat scrap goal

of 0.3% of sales.

Process Quality Engineer, Wheels Department: January 2004 to March 2007

Responsibilities: Process and Quality improvements and documentation on 5

Steering Wheel/ Driver Air Bag programs.

. Tracked and improved MFG cell production through Line Minutes/Unit and

First Time Quality initiatives.

. Used problem solving tools to resolve issues and created robust

countermeasures.

. Visited customers to cultivate relationships and to resolve issues.

. Defect reduction activities: Mistake Proof workshops, created boundary

samples, Kappa studies and Design of Experiment.

Kautex, Textron Automotive Division September 2001 - November

2003

Senior Quality Engineer:

Responsibilities: Quality planning of new product launches and quality

activities on current production fuel tanks for the automotive industry.

. Utilized the team approach in several Kaizen workshops to drive down

costs and improve efficiency using line balance techniques.

. Prepared control plans, FMEAs, work instructions, audit criteria, and

incoming inspection.

. Developed all gauging for new product introduction.

. Trained manufacturing associates on all quality and process aspects of

their assembly line.

Advanced Quality Engineer

Responsibilities: Quality planning for new products. Held design reviews,

conducted extensive process and product qualification. Creating Failure

Mode Effects Analysis, Design for Manufacturability plan, Control Plans and

work instructions through cross functional teams.

Supported all Launch Engineers by developing gauge fixture concepts and

procurement, along with negotiating customer designs and tolerances to meet

both customer's and supplier's needs.

. Procured over $1.5M in gauging fixtures and data gathering equipment.

. Conducted studies and negotiated between plant capabilities and

customer design requirements. Improved launch significant

characteristics capability by 50%.

. Strengthened supplier Advanced Quality Planning activities to assure

defect-free products.

Senior Quality Engineer: (June 1992 - November 1993)

Responsibilities: Qualified all new parts through Initial Sample Review

process, Reviewed and audited Quality Systems for compliance to quality and

operational standards. I supervised 14 auditors and 3 Metrology

technicians.

. Developed and initiated training and testing program for Auditors and

Back-up Auditors.

. Designed and implemented system audits.

. Reduced receiving cost by 50% by developing a supplier improvement

program.

Quality Engineer: (September 1988 - June1992)

Managed and trained 14 Quality Auditors on three shifts, coordinated gauge

control, prepared sample packages. Attained Ford Q1 Award and Awarded Best

plant by division HQ. Developed a Quality Standards Handbook to remove

subjectivity from inspection, resulting in 30% reduction in sort costs.
