Volunteer experience
April 2010- current: Volunteer with Franklin
County Children's Services as a mentor for a child.
I meet with her several times a month and find
positive, enriching activities for us to do.
June 2002- current: Volunteer with Labrador
Retriever Rescue of Cincinnati. Duties include
reviewing applications sent in by families or
individuals, calling veterinarians to verify pets
of applicant are maintained, approving or declining
of applicants to adopt a pet, working one-on-one
with families to select a pet that best fits their
family's lifestyle, following up with family after
adoption. I also helped organize fundraising
events, promote events to adopters and the general
public and set up at the events.
January 2006- July 2008: Volunteering at multiple
facilities with my therapy dog. We have gone to
Cincinnati Children's Hospital to visit patients in
various wards and attend events in Cincinnati
teaching about and promoting pet therapy program.
We also visit a local adult daycare facility and
interact with clients of the facility.
