Student Technician - Responsible for various technical productions and
venues. Duties included: laying and removing dance floors; hanging,
focusing and operating lights; operating sound; event preparation; and
house management.
The Amazing Portable Circus Summer 2009
Performed and helped to develop aerial acts with The Amazing Portable
Circus in Cincinnati, Ohio. Other skills include fire poi, balloon
animals, face painting, stilt walking and performances as a living
statue.
Goucher Summer Arts Institute Summer 2008 - Summer 2009
Head Counselor - Placed in charge of the girl's dormitory. Responsible for
camper wellbeing and support as well as the administration of medication.
Utilized in technical production; camper orientation; activity
organization, scheduling and management. Responsible for correspondence
between the counselors and campers as well as parents.
SJ Ranch Riding Camp Summer 2004 - 2005
Junior Counselor - Created and oversaw daily activities in arts & crafts,
drama, archery, tennis, and sports. Taught beginner riding lessons under
the supervision of a certified instructor. Aided licensed lifeguards in the
supervision of the waterfront. Worked in the office, kitchen and barn.
Placed in charge of a cabin of young girls. Completed written tests by the
Certified Horsemanship Association.
Dance Experience
Goucher College Dance Department August 2006 - May 2010
Classes include: Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Dance Composition, Dance
Therapy, Labanotation, Lighting for Dance, Technical Application for the
Stage, Music for Dance, and Pilates. The Advanced Composition class
culminated in two pieces of choreography on aerial silks that were debuted
as part of a Baltimore dance-maker's series in downtown Baltimore. They
were also shown as part of the advanced choreography showcase at Goucher
College.
Performances: "Another Left Exit" choreographed by modern resident Sean
Curran; "IntraPOPulo" choreographed by modern faculty member Michael
Thomas, "Eshque" choreographed by modern faculty member Juliet Forrest;
four pieces created by students in the advanced choreography showcase;
toured with SHMIBdance company which culminated in a thesis presentation at
Goucher College.
American Dance Festival Six Week School Summer 2010
. Studied dance under Tatiana Baganova. Performed in repertory by Abby
Yager, Ming-Lung Yang, Mary Seidman, and John Jasperse.
MADE in France Study Abroad Program through Washington University Summer
2009
. Studied dance, costume and set design, as well as circus arts with
faculty including David Dorfman, Lisa Race, and Jules Beckman.
Goucher College Intensive Course Abroad Summer 2008
History and Performance of Brazilian Dance - 3 week trip to Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil. Attended classes at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro,
Mangueira Escola de Samba, Escola Angel Vianna and the Deborah Colker
Movement Center. Performed choreography created through collaboration with
students and instructors at UFRJ both in Brazil and in greater Baltimore
Performance Arts High Schools as part of an informational presentation
about contemporary dance in Brazil.
Boston Conservatory Summer Dance Intensive Summer 2007
Classes included: Ballet, Modern, Gyrokinesis, Dance Dialogues, Percussive
Movement and Choreography/Repetoire. Instructors included: Denise Pons,
Denise Sklar, E. Tokunaga, Adriana Su rez, and Sean Curran. Each session
culminated in a performance on the mainstage.
Other Experience
Goucher College: Red Hot Blue August 2006 - Present
. Goucher College's only co-ed a cappella group. Toured NYU and Emerson in
the spring of 2006. Performs frequently at college events such as Explore
Goucher Day and for occasions at the President's House.
Note-A-Fy September 2002 - May 2006
. Helped to found Brookline High School's first a cappella group. An all-
female, student-run group, Note-A-Fy performed yearly at school events,
in personal fundraising concerts and at the Brookline 1st Light Festival.
