EXPERIENCE
Developer (Carefusion Medmined Services) - Sep 2008 - Present
. Patient Event Advisor (ASP.Net, SQL Server): a web based system
that helps hospitals track patient related alerts in a timely
fashion and improve health care. Working primarily as a developer
on the GUI, design parts of the database layer and optimize
supporting SQL stored procedures to improve turnaround time.
Graduate Research Assistant (Health Informatics Program, UAB) - 2 yrs
. Developer: Developed an electronic patient care report solution for
EMS agencies using C# and SQL Server 2005. The architecture of the
GUI is based on CAB and WPF. A robust and efficient distributed
system for data transfer in an unreliable network environment was
designed and developed using WCF services and message queues.
Developer (Kenkeen Technologies Pvt.Ltd, India) - 1 yr and 3 months
. Automated Vehicle Tracking System (C#.Net, SQL Server): was
developed for tracking vehicles configured with a GPS receiver of a
taxi service company in real time. The project involved use of the
TAPI to configure and communicate with the GPS modem and translate
messages and extract information such as location co-ordinates and
timestamps and save it to a SQL database. A Winforms based GUI
comprising of GIS maps and layers were built to display positions
of vehicles.
. Online Client Funding System (ASP.Net, VB.Net and SQL Server): an
intranet based system for management of trading accounts for a
broker firm. The requirement arose out of limitations to add new
services to an existing legacy system. The secure web based system
enabled employees to create new customer accounts, transfer funds,
track performance of purchased stocks and manage portfolios.
. Online Trading System for Commodity Trading (ASP.Net, C#.Net): a
web based system that keeps users update with real time data of the
commodity market. Allows management of portfolios and keeping track
of transactions. Assists clients in making an informed decision by
displaying the current position and performance record of
commodities.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
. Distributed File Sharing System (Java, JSP): The project consisted of
a file hosting server supporting multithreaded file downloads from
multiple clients. Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) was used for
communications between client and server components. Java Server Pages
was used to build the user interface for this application. Apache
Tomcat server hosted the application.
. Web Services in Java: The assignment involved creation of proxies to
access Google's search web service and use the methods exposed to
incorporate the search in a sample application.
. Debugger (Java, Javassist, AspectJ and OpenJ): built a debugger for
simple java programs using aspect oriented features offered by AspectJ
and Javassist. The user interface was built using Java Swing.
. Design Patterns in Java: implemented design patterns such as command,
adapter, chain of responsibility and visitor patterns.
