Case Worker I
Started as a receptionist making appointments to clients for possible participation in the
Food Stamp Program. There were times that I would help them sell Food Stamps to clients
(in the late 70‘s, each office issued out food stamps). At the end of the day, I had to
balance with cash/food stamp.
I was promoted to File Clerk and then to Quality Control Clerk. I evaluated all applications
approved by workers for accuracy.
I was then promoted to Secretary. This job involved typing all local travel done by Case
Workers/Field Investigators. Ordering supplies, equipment, typing all correspondence of
immediate supervisor (which included all evaluations of employees). Delivering all
outgoing mail to main office, supervising other clerks and assigning tasks to them.
My last job descriptions before resigning, was that of Case Worker I. I interviewed clients
for participation in the Food Stamp Program.
