• As a full-time parent for the past 10 years, I have developed a broad base of skills

which I believe can be applied to almost any situation.

• Previous work experience, demonstrated a high degree of adaptability, and the ability

to quickly learn and master new procedures.

am comfortable either using my initiative or taking direction. In addition I am capable

I am dedicated and motivated to provide the very best possible service to both employers and

customers.

I am very customer oriented, both from past work experience and from general life experience -

too often customers are dissatisfied with a service, and as a result are favorably surprised

when they are satisfied. I aim to always exceed customers expectations.

I am able to follow established procedures or innovate when allowed. When given the

responsibility I am comfortable being decisive in any situation.

I am highly conscientious and both willing and desiring to work hard, and I am most rewarded by

the knowledge of work done well.

Throughout my life I have been able to learn new duties and procedures and master them very

quickly. I am always willing to learn and grow within a job. Extra responsibilities do motivate

me.

I can work as part of a team or alone, and when working in a management capacity, I have found

myself able to motivate others by my willingness to help and demonstrate, while also being

able to delegate when necessary.

I am meticulous but efficient. Quality of work is essential to me, but I am always looking for

better, more efficient or quicker ways to achieve something, while still maintaining standards.

I have strong communication skills, both in clear written English and verbally. In addition I am a

good listener, I find it essential to know exactly what a problem is before offering or

searching for solutions. A related strength is that I am able to put myself in others positions,

enabling me to see their perspective on an issue.

I am clear thinking and not easily distracted.

Somewhat intangible as a skill, I have a strong desire to enjoy life and to share that outlook with

those around me. To this end, I try to maintain a good and cheerful outlook at all times. I

strongly believe this attitude can lead to a better all around environment to those I work with

and those I come into contact during work.

While it could be seen as a weakness, I believe it is a strength, that I am willing to ask for help

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Full time parent (2001-2010)

For 10 years I have managed a household of 5. In addition, for the past 5 years I have also

been responsible for home schooling two children, and volunteered time to help school

other home schooled children. Other volunteer work, I have regularly taken part in

includes cooking and food delivery, organizing and planning for large events and teaching

and leading classes of various aged children.

As primarily a field geologist, my duties were varied, but included:

Supervising and instructing contracted companies. Dealing with these companies and our own

clients to provide the right service. Dealing on a daily basis with clients, contractors and

the general public, my main duty was to explain exactly what I was doing and why.

Independently managing a groundwater sampling, which required meticulous following of

established procedures and standards, as well as innovative methods when required.

Training other staff members in all the parts of this job.

Assistant Manager - Forbuoys Newsagent, East Molesey, Surrey (1995-2000)

My job was essentially to act as manager during the manager’s non working time and to

provide management cover in other stores when managers were absent.

Duties included: opening and closing the shop; managing cash; stock taking, shelving and

setting displays (both independently and following companywide directions); working the

front of the shop, hiring, firing and general management of a diverse staff; dealing with

customers and with suppliers.

Various temporary jobs

Assistant manager at a wine store/off license, with duties similar to those at Forbuoys.

Factory worker - working on assembly lines, and fabrication machines, I both worked in a

team to achieve goals, and managed a variety of lines. Also had some responsibility to

repair and maintain equipment.

Administrative Assistant - working at a government supply warehouse, I was tasked with

dealing with customers, taking orders, processing orders, and stocktaking, as well as

providing support between front office staff and warehouse staff.
