OBJECTIVE
I want the opportunity to move up within a company while maintaining a relationship with my
customer base. I would love to have a career in management, which would allow me to oversee
employees as well as customer service. I am extremely detail oriented with strong organizational
skills.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Assistant Store Manager
March 2007 - December 2007
Disc Jockey Lexington, KY
Retail
As the assistant manager, it is my duty to oversee our three part time employees as well as to
open and close the store, make and drop bank deposits, ensure that daily sales goals are being
met, and provide excellent customer service. It has been a great experience so far, but I am
looking for a more permanent job situation, and one with more competitive pay.
Sales Representitive
March 2005 - March 2007
Geno's Formal Affair Lexington, KY
Retail
Customer service was my primary concern. At Geno's, we rented tuxedos and sold bridesmaid's
gowns, so I worked with the bride and groom to help make their big day as painless and as close
to their vision as possible. Taking measurements, registering wedding parties, ordering complete
ensambles and keeping a detailed knowledge of our inventory were a large part of my job, but it
also included keeping the customer happy. Geno's Formal Affair is a small company, so I was
also fully capable of opening/closing the store by myself, which included taking responsibility
for the bank deposit and counting the till at the beginning and end of each day. I have also taken
part in several bridal shows, which consisted of setting up and maintaining a booth for the
company and using my customer service skills to convince brides and grooms to register their
weddings with Geno's. We worked on commission, so I know how to be energetic and driven to
finalize that sale! I enjoyed working for the company and my experiences there, which included
coming up with new window displays and implementing them, merchandising, and introducing
my coworkers to the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program at Christmas time. The company has
helped over one hundred needy children thus far, and I am proud to have had a hand in that
accomplishment.
Senior Assistant Manager
October 2003 - March 2005
The Body Shop Lexington, KY
Retail
As Senior Assistant Manager, my duties were numerous. It was my job to oversee the part time
employees and to make sure they were meeting their sales goals every day. I also took inventory,
"set" the sales, which included taking markdowns and putting up signage as well as introducing
new products. It was up to me to run the store when the Store Manager was not in. We worked as
a team in order to meet goals and kept the store running smoothly. Often we stayed late on
holidays in order to change the floor plan around or to do inventory. In addition to
opening/closing duties, (which included taking responsibility for the bank deposit and till) I was
also expected to fill out a ledger at the end of each day that was composed of the sales numbers
LY (last year) and figure out sales goals for the current month, week and day. Those figures were
then communicated to the part time staff and it was part of my job to make sure they met them as
individuals so that we could, as a team, ensure our store's success.
