Secretary for 3 Nursing Units
April 08-Present
Responsibilities:
Payroll: I was responsible for editing approximately 240
patient care employees (RNs, LPNs, PCA and Unit
Coordinators) time cards. Since it is a 24 hour operation
there were numerous schedules to verify against employee's
time card. Also, I kept up with all tardies which meant
each employee's clockings for each shift they worked had to
be reviewed for clocking discrepancies. At the end of the
bi-weekly payroll, I would post all approved /unapproved
tardies to employee's attendance card.
Employee Files: I was responsible for keeping
approximately 240 plus employee files current on all
Licensure and all additional education required by Baptist,
State of TN, and Joint Commission.
Employee files were audited by The State Board of Health
and Joint Commission yearly. Employee files for which I
was responsible for had no deficiencies noted from 2006 to
present.
Filing: I was responsible for all filing pertaining to
employee files.
Ordering: I ordered all 3 unit's office supplies and all
patient equipment from varies vendors.
Payroll Reports: I completed my manager's biweekly Labor
Distribution Report. This report listed any employees that
floated to the 3 units I was responsible for. I verified
all of those hours to make sure they were correct and
posted to correct units.
Unit Parties: I would also coordinate all unit based
birthday, holiday and surprise parties for 2 units.
Software Training: I was asked by several directors to
help with Active Staffer payroll and scheduling training.
This was a new software purchased by Baptist to allow
employees to put in their own schedules (which ultimately
had to be approved by management) and view their time
cards. This training started in February 2009 and is
currently continuing.
