SPECIAL EFFORTS
I devised forms for 96 bollards with exposed aggregate on the lower 95% of
bollard with the top 5% smooth finished. The bollards had
been left off the contract for the job and were unavailable. I built the
forms, supervised pouring and finishing as well as installation of
bollards, completing a difficult job with good results rather than a breach
of contract.
During a three-day period at Kohl's I finished putting down 13,000 tons of
D.G.A., graded it out with the LeeBoy 685, rolled it with a 201 Bomag,
checked grade and finish graded. This was done at night, by myself.
During the day my crew and I laid 1758, 1556 and 1342 tons of base,
respectively. This was on the largest, to that day, job C&R had ever
undertaken. Many more days were spent digging islands, backfilling,
pouring curb, digging out soft sub grade. On average I get 75 hours a
week. On this project, and on others before and after, I have gotten 100
or more hours. We also had a 2-year warranty on this lot and did not have
to return to it for any type of repair.
My crew was chosen by the Better Business Bureau in Lexington to pave their
lot.
