Responsible for assisting Group Leader, Pam Green, with any correspondences
t hat needs to be typed, mailed (to a judge, P.O., or parent), fi led (in youth’s
case file, dorm binders), etc. on a daily basis. Responsible for updating all
correspondences that are needed for the unit such as Daily Dorm Schedules,
etc. and making sure that they are visible for the staff and youth.
Responsible for typing and mail ing out all Progress Reports, 45-Day Letters,
Release Certificates, notification letters, etc. for the following dorms: Red Bud.
P rogress Reports are done quarterly for each youth and responsible for
i nputting their custody level information and their Youth Care advancements
i nto J IRMS.
Responsible for answering different phone l ines and making sure that the
i ntended party receives their message. Responsible for ordering all equipment
such as paper, copier toner, printer cartridges, toilet tissue, paper towels,
detergent, LAMOD equipment (furniture, pictures, etc.), etc. a week prior to
r unning out of the supplies.
I r un criminal checks for visitation which is a nationwide database (LAACH
and NCIC) to find out whether a youth's family member has a record or not.
T his would determine if they can visit or not. Once they are approved I then
have to enter them into another database so that this institution and any
other juvenile institution in Louisiana can check to see who can visit this
youth and who can not. I'm am responsible for running all corrsepondences
and packets for the Sunday visitations and weekend furloughs. Responsible
for opening furlough screens in J IRMS which makes it possible for a youth to
leave campus.
