Whelan Security- Minneapolis, Minnesota
6/4/2009-Present
. Security Agent, working events, such as Minnesota Vikings games.
Flexible Circuit Technologies - Plymouth, Minnesota
1/21/2008- 12/29/2008
Process Engineer
. Worked with Application Engineers, potential and existing customers,
and Design Engineers on customer flexible printed circuit design
requirements. Communication with customers included written,
conference calls, and visits in person.
. Process engineering responsibilities, including defining manufacturing
capabilities, as well as specific process instructions for California
and China manufacturing facilities.
. Spent time in China with manufacturing partners to review processes
and make improvements to same. Provided support to order equipment
and set up a copper plating process during my stay in China.
. Quality engineering responsibilities to determine product
acceptability and assist in obtaining and including specific
requirements per customer supplied documentation. Also, inspected and
sorted manufactured parts for acceptability.
. Helped facilitate new ERP system by supporting Application Engineers
and Sales Assistants in reviewing and updating bills of materials.
. Researched and sourced materials needed for new product orders.
Molex Copper Flex Products - St. Paul, Minnesota
4/2005- 10/12/2007
Project Engineer
. Continued job duties after Century Circuits was purchased by Molex,
Inc.
. Job duties expanded to include inception to life completion of
flexible circuit part number builds. Engineering responsibility for
production as well as pre-production flex manufacturing. Also, more
value added customer focus, resulting in more parts that were
assembled prior to shipment to customers, with engineering support of
component procurement and assembly activities.
. Responsibility for generating all BOM's and routings for supported
part numbers into a new ERP system. Participated in the leadership
team to introduce the ERP system, with functional responsibilities.
Trained other engineers on the use of the ERP system.
. Managed new product part numbers totaling in the 100's between Molex
and Century Circuits engineering activities.
Century Circuits & Electronics - St. Paul, Minnesota
7/1998-4/2005
Product Development Engineer - 9/2000- 4/2005
. Responsible for providing tooling and outsource needs, process flows,
and pricing per customer prints to sales for generating quotes.
. Responsible for supporting prototype and small volume flexible circuit
manufacturing activities. This included design, quoting support,
build documentation, delivery dates, tooling, design verification and
testing.
. Process engineering responsibility for assigned equipment within the
Product Development area, as well as production equipment support as
needed.
. Developed a process for copper plating on one prototype program that
other vendors were not successful with.
. Led an effort to streamline new product introduction process by
creating templates for other engineers to use for BOM's, process
instructions, and tooling/design documentation.
Senior Process Engineering Technician - 7/1998 to 9/2000
. Process engineering responsibliities, mostly in the wet process area
to make process improvements, document procedures, and specify
equipment purchases.
. Found, purchased, and modified a small chemical clean line that fit
processing needs, and was less expensive than most used equipment.
. Set up and validated a small copper plating tank for the Product
Development area.
. Set up special processing equipment for individual product needs.
. Scheduled prototype build efforts with R&D technicians.
Novartis Nutrition
