the public on the importance of laws that protected our forests
and natural resources, as well as the laws that promote safety
to the public while enjoying the National Forests. Investigated
and wrote reports of possible arson, illegal wood cutting,
abandoned property, possible destruction of resources from
mining/dredging, marijuana cultivations, off highway vehicles
(OHV) violations, theft of government property, fish/game
violations, and campground violations (i.e. unattended camp
fires, abandoned garbage, excessive noise after hours, publicly
intoxicated, causing a disturbance to other campers, dogs
unleashed, use of illegal fireworks, and illegally shooting
firearms near a campground or across a body of water.) Assisted

09/96 - 09/03 U.S. Border Patrol
Campo Station, Campo, CA. 91906
Border Patrol Agent GS-1896-11/2
As a Border Patrol Agent, I intercepted individuals who
illegally gained entry into United States and detained them. I
made decisions about a person's status and determined if they
are U.S. citizens or illegal aliens. I gained extensive
training over five months at the academy located in Charleston,
S.C. as well as seven years in the field, I demonstrated
proficiency in statutory law, federal criminal law, immigration
law, and learned to speak Spanish during my tenure. I qualified
and used government issued firearms as part of my assigned
duties. My knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures
pertaining to arrest/apprehension of violators,
search/seizures, probable cause, and crime scene investigations
are extensive. As well as experienced in arresting and
apprehending individuals in remote areas far from backup. I
conducted interviews to obtain appropriate investigative
information and prepared accurate documentation for criminal
incidents such as alien and drug smuggling. I dealt with
citizen reports of illegal immigrants near the area reported
obtaining information and evidence of illegal activities a
citizen may had witnessed. Many times I worked one-month
details away from the Campo station and my home to work at
other stations or special operations patrolling the wilderness
in Cleveland National Forest. I and other agents worked with
law-enforcement officers to apprehend and arrest illegal
immigrants traveling through the wilderness. During my tenure I
also served as a Field Training Officer working with trainees
joining the Border Patrol. I taught various types of case work
such as writing reports of apprehension and/or seizure of a
subject or seized vehicle. Teaching the correct procedure
writing up a vehicle pursuit reports and deportation of an
inadmissible alien. Taught trainees in the field on tracking
footprints, and how to properly apprehend and arrest illegal
immigrants while demonstrating the proper techniques of
searching a suspect, keeping safety in mind. Also worked within
a sensor crew maintaining and deploying sensitive electronic
equipment set to pick up seismic movement when groups of
illegal immigrants walked certain trails. These sensors were
equipped to send out signals to our sector dispatch who in
return called out the number over the radio to our agents in
the field. From there the agents would respond to the area to
investigate what caused the sensor to fire. Also worked as part
of the First Alert Snow Team (F.A.S.T) in areas much further
north, responding to sensors or by detecting footprints of
possible illegal immigrants that might had been caught in a
severe storm. Located them and helped them get to safety from
the extreme elements that we faced from time to time during the
winter. Leo Miele-Supervisor 619-***-****

laws/regulations pertaining to the practices of the ecosystem
of the wilderness according to the Wilderness Act. I gained
extensive knowledge of standard resource practices, methods,
techniques to identify resource protection conditions,
priorities, assessed related impacts on ecosystem management,
and assisted in the development and modification of the
ecosystem. Hiked many trails in the Frank Church River of No
Return Wilderness, checking all the new and old campsites made
by hikers, campers, outfitter groups, assessed the damage by
documenting and taking pictures of each site, then made each
site as pristine as it once was. I educated on rules and
regulations to the public by promoting the "Leave No Trace"
policy of camping, wilderness philosophy, and minimizing the
impact of livestock. Prepared reports describing the conditions
of outfitter camps and facilities. Collected evidence and
provided documentation for cases of misuse, impacts, and
