EXPERIENCE: 10/08-Current Supervisor/Team Leader. Drug abuse counselor at Bi-

Intake, assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, counseling and

discharge planning and referral. I am working with a diverse and often

difficult population, most of whom have co-occurring mental disorders,

some of whom are dealing with abuse, women’s issues, homelessness and

9/94-10/03 Owner and Vice President of Ken’s TV Audio Video Inc.

Electronics retail store in Citrus Heights, CA and of Accurate TV and

Video in South Land Park, CA. Sales and customer service, accounts

receivable and payable. Responsible for managing employees, for payroll

and human resources, merchandising the floor, and intake of new

merchandise as well as advertising.

4/96-6/97 Chemical Dependency Counselor, Folsom Behavioral Health,

Folsom, CA. Private practice intensive outpatient evening program.

9/94-11/96 Chemical Dependency counselor, Charter Hospital on call per

diem counselor (reduced hours after birth of baby) see below. 9/94-11/96

12/92-9/94 Chemical Dependency Coordinator, Charter Hospital,

Roseville, CA. Responsible for the design and coordination of the In-

Patient, Partial Hospitalization, Outpatient and Aftercare Programs as well

as set up groups for the Dually Diagnosed patients program. Recruited and

managed CAADAC interns from several local schools as well as manage

three case managers in house. During this time, I successfully merged the

Starting Point Program patients (from Oak Ave) into Charter Hospital

when Starting Point closed down. I also gave lectures in the community

about chemical dependency and related issues.

planning. Lectures given focusing on the Twelve Step principles of

Alcoholics Anonymous, Disease Concept, the Progression of Chemical

Dependency, Family Dynamics, Co-dependency and AIDS education.

Additionally, I facilitated process groups, one on one counseling, and was

responsible for discharge planning and referrals. Trained as a certified

Ropes Course Facilitator, Water safety Guard for shallow pools. Trained in

management of assaultive behavior. Trained in take downs and four point

restraints.

5/90-10/90 Clinical Assistant, Starting Point, Orangevale, CA. Worked

with both adults as well as adolescents. Observation of patients, charting

Management, Gold River, CA Initially hired as a trainee, I received my

first promotion to Portfolio Administrator. I managed an average of 160

accounts, and was responsible for calculating stock sectors and placing

trades with the client’s stock brokers and the New York block trading desk

(stock exchange) My second promotion was to Supervisor of my own,

newly developed department. I was in charge of restructuring and

streamlining the company’s reconciling process, and for recruiting and

managing interns from local universities. Also managed two people in

house as well as seven outside contracted reconcilers.

1985-1986 Department Sales Manager, Bon Marche Department Store

Seattle, SA. Accessories Department, (Shoes, Hosiery, Handbags, and

Jewelry) Duties included planning and organizing sales events, projecting

sales, and compiling monthly mark-down budgets. Following promotion

from Assistant Buyer to Sales Manger, responsibilities included

maintaining strong customer service, supervision and review of sales

associates and department productivity. Ran inventory planning for

department

1984-1985 Assistant Buyer, Frederick and Nelson department Store,

Seattle, WA., Junior Department. Responsible for all stores in Washington,

Oregon and Idaho. Daily changed merchandise displays for downtown

Seattle store. Visited branch stores throughout Washington to promote

current fashion trends and to train staff on merchandising strategy.

1981-1983 In-House Sales representative, Campus Casuals, Los Angeles,

CA. Created and maintained a high volume of sales productivity out of

the corporate showroom. Dealt with buyers of Major Department stores

from across the country, as well as small specialty shops from south of San

Francisco to the Los Angeles area. Planned and placed orders for the U.S.

Military base stores. Worked the major women’s wear markets.

Interests: Snow skiing, and horseback riding. Have served on the Board of Directors

for Twin Lakes Riding Club (non-profit corp.). Running Western, English

and Gymkhana horse events as well as trail rides. I have also passed the

test with my horse “Desi“ and have become a Mounted Folsom Lake Trail

Patrol person. Also actively involved in the Clover 4H Horse project as an

assistant leader. I am currently CPR and First Aid Certified. Have been

active in Bayside Church Women’s Ministries.
