objective
To have an opportunity to utilize my experience in Manufacturing,
Engineering Change Management, Process Improvement, Engineering,
Production Planning and Supply Chain, SAP MM and PP knowledge,
make/buy decisions and vendor selections, master data management and
mass-change functionality, SAP training and reporting, Labor
Measurement and Planning, MRP, and Project Management.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Industrial Engineering Manager for Schwing America Inc. since
June of 2003, establishing the department structure, statements, and
responsibilities. I am currently responsible for production BOM's,
routings, time-studies and standards, make/buy decisions, fixtures,
work centers, weld-shop division ECOs and capacity planning.
Developed base data, BPPs, PIRs, and trained IE, Production Control
and Purchasing in multiple business processes. Appointed to select
appropriate vendors in compliance with German DIN standards, and
work with buyers in selecting vendors, pricing negotiations, and
insourcing/outsourcing decisions, based on capacity, capability and
available materials. Member of the ECO committee to implement
changes based on critical criteria. Work with shop floor employees
on a daily basis in training of new processes as well as ECO change
items.
Experience with 2 SAP implementations: SAP Key User for Schwing
PP Module and MM Key User for Wilson Tool International's
implementation. Have maintained SAP integrity based on thorough
knowledge of material master, and performed regular maintenance on
master data using SQVI reporting and mass change functions as well
as CATT programming. Appointed leader of process improvement, lean
manufacturing and standard reduction projects resulting in a 20% per
year improvement, with better than 98% accuracy.
Project leader for reviewing all product lines for cost
improvements, design for manufacturability, and internal capacity
leveling. I have also reviewed shop layout designs along with
department managers and created value stream maps for improvements
to product flow, implemented self-inspection techniques, reduction
of material handling, improved ergonomics, and minimized of space
requirements using point-of-use storage techniques. Implemented a
structured time-study program covering 2-divisions, selecting the
most effective and compatible equipment and software.
Established key-measurables for SAI; establishing the basic data
elements, training of plant employees, monitoring progress, and
reporting. Established utilization meters on high-cost machinery,
and run 6-month routing and BOM cleanup projects. Using background
in Excel, have established reporting tools for monitoring monthly
capacity progress, identification of bottleneck areas, calculation
of headcount by Profit Centers, Cost Centers, and Work Centers. The
reports used are interactively linked to company forecast models,
allowing for a flexible analysis of different forecast and capacity
scenarios.
Performed analysis of and initiated contact with new
vendors, based on knowledge of machining processes. Setup monitoring
of company quality issues, relaying information to vendors to
improve vendor quality and delivery. I have worked with my fixturing
department personnel designing jigs and fixtures using Solid Edge to
aid in manufacturing improvements, as well as reducing major product
line manufacturing times to as much as 50% of the original standards
(S42SX project- have data).
Have setup weekly KAIZEN meetings to initiate cost savings via
input from shop-floor personnel, establishing the format to be used
for future meetings.
Appointed lead position in change circles and committees, and
work well with all managers at SAI. Regularly work with employees
on the shop floor, and have a reputation for listening to the issues
pertaining to manufacturing, prioritizing them by greatest return
for the lowest investment, getting a team to work together to solve
the problem and prevent it from recurring.

Previously employed in the manufacturing field at Wilson Tool
International from 1989 to 2003, and completed business courses in
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, as well as five APICS
certified inventory control courses and blueprint reading courses.
I had received extensive training in the use and maintenance of SAP
system software, in which I was a "Triage" member during Wilson
Tool's recent implementation. Lone "Mass Maintenance" user for SAP
master data cleanup projects. I was enrolled in the U of M
Electrical Engineering program from 1986 to 1989, winning the annual
robot contest in my Engineering course. I am very proficient with
Excel, creating models and reports for managers to introduce new
product to the market, as well as the depletion of obsolete
products. I had completed the process of phasing in an entire
product line, while depleting an obsolete one. I have also been
extensively involved with quality rejections and approvals, dealing
with vendors and shop personnel. Very knowledgeable about factory
processes, metal finishing processes, quality inspection procedures,
jigs and fixtures, SPC, KAIZEN, lathes, mills, EDM, plasma and oxy
fuel cutting, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes. Have
designed using AutoCad, SolidEdge, and Pro-E software.

Production Control - Planner
Member of Costs Saving Committee, as well as reviewing new and
existing Specials products. Create reports for supervisors and
managers. New product introduction, and create Excel product line
models for other production Control employees. Was recommended for,
and acted as Interim manager for Planning Department.
2001-2002
SAP Master Data Team
Wilson Tool Implemented SAP Software to increase company efficiency
and productivity, and I was one of three members selected company-
wide to maintain system integrity, run reports, and communicate
problems to Management, utilizing Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.
I set up an organized method for communications to be filtered to
our group through a standard form and procedure, and was the only
person company-wide to perform mass maintenance. Attended weekly
meetings with managers. Key user for MM.
1999-2001
Manufacturing Engineering - Production Engineer
Create/edit manufacturing prints, routings, and BOM's for existing,
as well as new product.
Vendor quality control, as well as new product inspection and
approval.
Implemented a quality control system to track vendor quality,
ensuring a consistent, thorough procedure.
Tracked and corrected a major product flaw, orchestrating a complete
product-line inspection, and communicating with our sister company
in England, ensuring no flawed product would reach the customer.
Communications were organized through me with Sales, Management,
Supervisors, and shop personnel, keeping open lines to everyone
involved.

In closing: my background is firmly in manufacturing production planning &
control, logistics, and engineering areas. I am an avid reader with a
curious demeanor, and would not accept a position with a company if I did
not believe I could make tremendous positive changes within a company.
