I am currently a soldier in the Tennessee Army National Guard,
recently returned from my first deployment to Iraq. While deployed, I was
the only junior Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) to be placed in charge of
soldiers equal in rank and below. I was also the youngest Assistant
Operations NCO in Regimental 278 Armored Cavalry history. I am one of four
Joint Fires Observers (JFO) in the state of Tennessee and one of five Air
Defense System Operators (ADSO). As a JFO, I am qualified and authorized
to call Close Air Support and Close Combat Attacks for all branches of the
military, as well as Naval Gun Fire from Navy cruisers and Air Craft
Carriers. As an Air Defense Operator, I am tasked with the responsibility
to clear and define air space for aircraft to travel fluently. The
majority of these jobs are performed on highly technical computer systems
in which I have extensive training. I am certified in Lynix operating
systems and Microsoft Military Operating Systems.

During my time at Home Depot, I was given a large amount of
responsibility. Due to being understrength, and understaffed, I was given
three departments to look after and maintain, as opposed to the standard
one department. I began as a lumber associate, millwork associate, and
cashier, but was soon given paint and tool rental as part of my daily
duties. My daily duties included filling and placing orders, stocking
shelves, cutting lumber, designing decks and estimating costs, mixing
paint, creating contracts, repairing small engines, and loading vehicles.
The classes I attended while employed at Home Depot included
intermediate and advanced customer service, intermediate and advanced paint
mixing, introduction to small engines, introduction to small engine repair,
intermediate and advanced flooring, window and door installation, deck and
frame design, etc. I also built up a large client base who knew me by name
and trusted with their projects. I received a total of eleven customer
service awards and performance based bonuses.
