Having handled all aspects of the project including installation, start up,

commissioning, validation and final project hand over to the local site, I

successfully interfaced with internal customers, site management, etc., for

project implementation.I am a team player who works well with vendors,

contractors and plant personnel and I'm ready to travel.

AUTOMATED DESIGN AND CONTROL

November, 2003 to Present

Lehigh Acres, FL

Senior Controls Engineer/ Independent Contractor

We created, developed, and implemented multiple PLC/ HMI/ Servo application

programs for the installation of manufacturing equipment. As the Senior

Controls Engineer, I designed electrical schematics for different

packaging, material handling, building material and conveyor systems

ensuring project completion both on time and within budget.

? Helped develop/test PLC program for Miami/Atlanta Airport programming;

testing included I/O check of each MCP, getting

conveyors up and going, setting up VFD's, setting up tracking on in

tracking zones, developing logic for sortation of bags.

. Supervised $3MM Web Van project from initialization to completion;

assisted in project design, developed timeline, hired contractors, ordered

material, and generated regular reports tracking project progress to upper

level management. Project consisted of conveying system with 200+

conveyors.

. Managed $2MM conveying system for carpet manufacturer. Developed

ControlLogix program, RSView ME and designed electrical schematics

allowing for 100+ conveyors using bar code scanners, which diverted carpet

rolls to various unloading stations. Developed Devicenet program for all

remote devices.

. Developed ControlLogix program and RSView S.E. (Distributed) application

for Railroad Winch application. Developed ControlNet and DeviceNet for all

remote devices/rack. Converted manual process which moved railcars hitched

together each full of sugar cane and to be dumped on a conveyor, where the

mill processed the sugar cane.

. I spearheaded the development of a ControlLogix and RSView M.E HMI

program for Pre-Punch Roll Form system. Converted relay logic control to

automated system. Pre-punch system consisted of an old analog servo

indexer which was converted into a digital servo drive (Ultra 3000). Save

company $10,000/month in scrap cost and downtime. Developed Devicenet

program for all remote devices.

. Developed SLC-500 and RSView M.E program and designed electrical

schematics for $200K Needle Assembly machine upgrade Converted existing

controls using cams for positioning to a vector control drive with

encoder drive with encoder to increase productivity and reduced machine

downtime.

. Assisted in development and commissioning of Pick on Fly Robot system, in

which robot picks glass off moving conveyor and stacks it to a rack.

. Designed electrical schematics and assisted in development of

ControlLogix and RSView M.E program for USG Spacer Placement Gantry

System. Gantry consisted of 7-axis servo using Kinetix Multi-Axis Drives

that placed a divider between boards enabling fork truck driver easier

access for pick-up and eliminating manual labor. ControlNet, DeviceNet,

and Sercos for all remote devices/rack and communication.

. Modified and reprogrammed ControlLogix and RSView M.E. program on a $7 MM

case and sorter conveyor system consisting of 250+ conveyors to increase

plant throughput by 12%. Modified PLC and Devicenet program for barcode

reader misreads. Tuned and adjusted parameters on Powerflex drives on

conveyor system, and modified palletizers program to increase efficiency.

. Developed SLC-500 and HMI program for Veneer system. Worked with

mechanical engineering staff to designed a prototype system where sheets

of wood after being shaved are transferred to dryer in order to eliminate

manual labor. Hired contractors, ordered material, and maintain electrical

budget.

. Worked with mechanical engineering staff for development of prototype

glass stacker. Designed electrical schematics and developed SLC-500 and

PanelView programs for 6 axis glass stacker system, which unloads glass

off moving conveyor and stacks it for robot unloading.

TYCO HEALTHCARE

June, 2000 to November,2003

Deland, FL

Plant Engineer

I designed, developed and implemented multiple PLC & HMI programs for

medical manufacturing equipment. In addition, I collaborated with other

engineering disciplines in order to generate cost saving projects that

increased production while reducing cost.

. Modified existing PLC program on a $5MM packaging machine for medical

manufacturer. Changed existing VFD's to Servo control drives and modified

the robot program for better placement of parts, increasing productivity

from 55% to 90%.

. Developed PLC and HMI program and designed electrical schematics for

$200K Needle Assembly machine upgrade. Converted existing controls using

cams for positioning to a vector control drive with encoder to increase

productivity and reduced machine downtime.

. I worked with corporate engineering staff to convert Tig welder to Plasma

Welder. Redesigned controls and welding process to save company estimated

$20,000/ month in scrap and downtime.

. Analyzed and modified plant programs for new installations to increase

efficiency.

BRIDGESTONE/ FIRESTONE CO.

March, 1999 to May, 2000

Bloomington, IL

Senior Project Controls Engineer

Before my arrival, programs had been written in Japan, I designed and

developed PLC programs and electrical schematics for leading tire industry

manufacturer for new and existing machinery, included the control upgrading

of equipment such as extruders, banbury mixers, tire machines and conveyor

systems, using US built controls. In addition, I directed and trained

maintenance in troubleshooting various types of machine and also

coordinated preventive maintenance in an effort to decrease machine

downtime.

. Developed program, electrical schematics, and conduit schedule for $750K

tire machine upgrade. Converted controls from relay logic to PLC (PLC-

5/PanelView), thereby increasing troubleshooting capabilities and reducing

production downtime.

. Designed and developed program (PLC-5/PanelView), and electrical

schematics for a $500K Bias Cutter modification. Upgrade increased

productivity and reduced ergonomic risk to operators due to control

improvements.

. Collaborated in the Project Management of new Calendar Line upgrade

(+10M) for existing plant.

. Directed all electrical and control installations, including developing

timeline, ordering materials and supervising contractors. Completed

project ahead of schedule facilitating an additional savings in man-hours

and production downtime.

. Upgraded existing conveyor system program by replacing analog to digital

drives. Controlled dancer bars by PI&D control from PLC.

GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER (Kelly Tire)

September, 1997 to March, 1999

Tyler, TX

Controls and Maintenance Engineer

I created new and modified existing PLC programs, designed electrical

schematics and recalculated short circuit analysis for 1-liner plant power

distribution prints. Managed the maintenance a team troubleshooting a range

of machinery when necessary.

. Developed, modified, and problem solved SLC-500, PLC-5, and ControlLogix

programs.

. Coordinated preventative maintenance program in an effort to decrease the

frequency and duration of machine downtime.

ROCKWELL AUTOMATION

March, 1994 to October, 1996

Memphis, TN

Field Service /Controls Engineer

Responsible for all new installation, start-up, maintaining and

troubleshooting PLC's and drives failure for Industrial systems in a
