Leadership and Management Skills
As an owner and managing vice president in responsible charge of a land
surveying firm for 14 years, knowledge was gained and skills were developed
that can be utilized in a broad range of positions. Management of this
business required the development of leadership skills, problem solving and
decision making, data and financial analysis, as well as the knowledge of
many office software and data processing programs. As a licensed land
surveyor and graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Visual
Arts degree, a varied range of skills and interests have been cultivated.

As a managing partner I was responsible for the quality and accuracy of all
survey products such as signed and sealed ALTA/ACSM land title and
topographic survey maps, legal descriptions, survey data files, field
staking, electronic and conventional data collection, GPS data processing,
tidal studies, GIS data entry and survey reports. I also prepared proposals
and reviewed contracts, interacted with clients, attorneys and civil
engineers and the general public on a daily basis. I managed other licensed
professionals, project managers, survey CAD technicians, crew coordinators
and field personnel. And I also handled monthly invoicing and oversaw the
preparation of reports tracking production, budgets and incoming jobs and
projects.
Survey Project Manager / CAD Draftsman

Hand drafted mortgage surveys, topographic surveys (with contours), boundary
surveys, record plats etc. Led the in house transition to AutoCad and
learned field data collection utilizing the FDOT Electronic Field Book and
Caice field data processing software. Trained field crews and office
personnel in all of the above and filled the role of head survey CAD
technician. I also spearheaded the company's utilization of GPS and remained
the chief processor of static GPS field data until my departure in June of
2009. During this period I managed many projects such as sub-division
platting, route surveys and mapping for the Florida Dept. of Transportation,
large topographic surveys, boundary surveys, protected tree surveys and
level runs for the St. Johns River Water Management District.
