MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Interview DOD military and civilian personnel of all ranks and grades
to advise of ity personal property, i.e. household goods (HHG's moving of
privately owned vehicles (POV's), pets, weapons and other items in person
or over the phone
2. Shipments are to all points in CONUS for ETS or PCS
3. Process request for shipments by the Do-It-Yourself (DITY) method.
4.Questions the applicant as to their needs and the services he /she
desires, i.e., method of shipment desired, mode of shipment, estimate of
effects to be shipped and their weight, data on unusual items that would
require special handling; date pick up desired; date required at
destination, etc.
5. Using the Transportation Operational Personal Property Standard
System (DPS ) allocate domestic/international personal property shipment to
commercial carrier industry.
6. Check over member's folders to see if all items list for there dity
move is in the package. If not sent e-mail and/or make call to have member
sent in missing item.
7. Prepare correction for weights place in tops
8. Initiate tracer actions through commonly used channels to locate lost
or delayed shipments and missing items. (mostly by phone)
9. Process request for shipments by the Do-It-Yourself (DITY) and put
information in the tracking transmitted and check for other shipments in
(TOPS) or DPS
10. Answer inbound calls and question, Dealing with all range of
shipments. DPS, weights, NTS, CHECK ON PAYMENTS
11. Process dity advanced application and prepare documents for
submission to DFAS/Rome for payment.
12. Participate in any Transportation test programs as may be required by
higher headquarters.
13. Conducts group briefings for Do It Yourself Moves
14. Compute and prepare documentation to collect excess cost on outbound
shipments.
15. Help members in the front section of transportation by giving
package, Check members dity package
16. Collect excess cost and prepare documentation for deposit.
17. Performs other duties as may be required.

MAJOR DUTIES
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Quality Control
Inspector, inspecting and reinforcing counseling on inbound personal
property shipments of all modes Perform on-site inspections of inbound and
outbound personal property shipments, including household goods,
unaccompanied baggage, mobile homes, boats and privately owned vehicles
.Accompanies Surface Deployment Distribution Command (SDDC) personnel to
approve new agent facilities to ship and store DoD personal property
shipments.
all authorized military and civilian employees on their entitlements for
shipment and storage of personal property and privately owned vehicles,
including specialized items, to domestic and overseas locations, Utilizes
word processing software and printing equipment to create, copy, edit, and
print a variety of standardized documents and perform other clerical and
administrative tasks in support DPS. and TOPS
Work with front desk Customer Service helping in all areas, of Personal
Property to issue out military Service members is getting 100% Service. Set
up authorization Forms, for third party service to perform special jobs for
the service members give approvals Numbers. Create routes workloads for
Inspectors to go out and do the on the road inspection. Check incoming
paperwork returns of the 619 box counts Comeback papers of complete jobs
Enter all inspection in the tops or DPS systems.
Expert knowledge of a wide range of transportation policies, practices and
techniques to include knowledge of personal property movement, personal
property entitlements, carrier industry practices, international, state,
and local laws and operations for shipping and storage within the
transportation functions.
Knowledge of the different instructions, regulations, directives,concerning
shipment and storage of personal property in order to store. Knowledge,
skill and ability to analyze, correlate, and evaluate transportation data
for input into automated data systems TOPS or DPSSkill and ability to
respond to a range of questions from government agencies, activity
personnel, customers, commercial TSPs, and or others regarding the shipment
and storage of household goods.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices with the ability to
communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Exercise leadership in
application of loss and damage program. Coordinate and instructions for
use within member Conduct inspections of transportation personal property
