SUMMARY: I am an individual with multi-layers of skills and knowledge in
the areas of Print Production and Graphic Design. I have extensive
experience in the areas of Publication Production, Print Design, Desktop
Publishing and Technology. I have both book and journal publication
experience utilizing the Macintosh platform system and the use of all adobe
creative suite software programs (Photo shop, Illustrator, Acrobat). I am
also highly proficient with both Indesign and quark express. I also have
knowledge of Microsoft office suite programs.
EDUCATION: Graduate of Eastern Illinois University located in Charleston,
Illinois 61920 Receiving both my B.A and B.S degree's in Visual
Communication and Business Administration.
EXPERIENCE
. I currently assume the complete responsibility for the production and
printing of The Appraisal Journal. The Appraisal Journal is a
quarterly publication produced by the Appraisal Institute.
. I manage and prepare the total design, print and production process
including scheduling, layout, checking proofs, securing the mailing
list and accurately paying vendors for the production of the journal.
. Assist in the desktop publishing of books and other projects following
established design specifications
. Convert files, scan artwork and produce pages and interior layouts for
both books and the journal.
. Proofread completed author changes and enter final revisions as needed
to digital files.
. Maintain electronic production files for The Appraisal Journal and
other publications
. Continually update print reports for new text and reprinted titles
. Execute assigned projects and provide weekly updates on ongoing
projects
. Create PDF files of book and journal content for the company web site
and library
. Knowledge of online/offline marketing campaigns, electronic
communications and Fundraising development
. Provide computer support and assistance as needed for journal and
publication staff
. Responsible for updating digital book files as required for new book
impressions
. Redesign covers and interior pages with the preparation of newly
submitted author charts, graphs and tables for the new impression or
edition
. The ability to prepare highly complicated medical and scientific page
layouts and design
. Manage and update databases and digital file archives
. Responsible for developing and production of marketing presentation
and collateral to effectively promote new print products or previous
book titles
. Implemented marketing print communications (brochures, direct mail,
and newsletters)
. Coordinate and design the handling of all reprinted titles for the
company with photographers, vendors and outside freelance staff.
