Positions/Duties
Assisted our medical records department while working in surgery, now fully in medical records
department, handling heavy inbound calls from attorneys, Dr. offices, as well as patients
requesting records and billing, updating patient’s billing to forward to billing company, sending
prepayments for records, final reports, and x-ray/MRIfilms along with locating charts (not yet on
EMRs) needed for requests from attorneys for subpoenas and depositions as well as records and
billing. Completed Red Flags orientation 10/09.
Previous position as ambulatory surgical coordinator included:
Responsible for scheduling out patient surgeries for busy orthopedic surgeon for multiple centers
through out out the east coast of Florida. Processes requests for approvals to attorneys, worker's
comp., and surgery centers. Schedules patients medical clearance appointments with their
primary doctor when required. Communicates via fax/phone with patients, attorneys, worker's
comp., insurance providers, centers, and equipment reps. Daily use of fax/copy machine, writing
of paper work for center and patient, logging of scheduled surgeries in Dr.'s book as well as
computer. Responsible for reviewing and updating medical and contact information in patients
charts, as well as maintaining flow of pending cases so that they may proceed to be scheduled.
Uses firefox and office hours for post op appointments as well as Dr.'s surgery schedule, and
smart md for dictation. Resigned when received job opportunity for a Home Healthcare
company. Used computer program home solutions to enter patients, update schedules, scanning
visits recorded on scantrons done by nurses, PTs, OTs, and home health aides. Manual record
keeping, as well as phones, organizing and updating HR files, medical records, logs, supply
ordering, and any and all administrative support duties. Resigned that position end of May.
$14/hr/Salary. Ability to work efficiently as individual, looking for team environment to achieve
the same goal.

After temporary position was completed, was promoted to the Deerfield office as an Administrative Assistant.
