Senior Level Program Director receiving daily work tasks from a senior
government executives or other team members in direct association with the
Networx Universal telecommunication transition project.
Project Over view:
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AOUSC) is facing unique
challenges with its information technology (IT) service delivery methods in
an ever-changing environment of increasing user demands with limited
available resources. Specifically, we are now facing a mandatory
contractual transition from one national telecommunications vendor to
another. The Infrastructure Management Division is tasked with the
planning, management, and oversight of the transition to the new GSA-
sponsored, Networx Universal contract as it pertains to the Judiciary. OIT-
IMD wishes to take an active role in meeting its customers' business
objectives while concurrently minimizing risk and maintaining both
efficient and effective IT services throughout the transition period.
I was assigned to provide program and project management services and
support, as defined in the organization's Information Technology Project
Management process (ITPM process), to IMD's Networx implementation team in
the planning, coordination, and execution of the national transition. I
relied on my telecom experience to assist with assigned planning
activities, coordinate with various Judiciary organizations and entities
and the primary vendor, point out significant risk areas with mitigation
strategies, and will advise and recommend courses of action which will lead
to successful implementation, given established time restraints. I
constantly demonstrated expertise in project management techniques and
methodologies and experience in large-scale telecommunication migrations.
