Purchasing and supply chain consultant. Services to include but not limited

to sourcing (domestic and international) cost reduction strategies,

contract negotiation/renegotiations, supplier lean engagement,

implementation of supplier rating/certification programs, spend map

analysis, buy versus make analysis, and inventory management.

American Industrial Partners (AIP) New York, NY (2007 - 2010)

Part of an executive management network (employed by each portfolio

company) implementing operational objectives on behalf of the private

equity group. Assignments consisted of joining the senior staff,

evaluating/mentoring employees, implementing processes and systems to

improve purchasing and materials resulting in improved material

availability and improved profitability.

Manufacturer of Class A and Class C Motor Homes (AIP Portfolio

Company)

o Key commodities included Chassis, Appliances, Fabrications, Metals

(Carbon and Aluminum), Windows, Cabinets/Woods, Hardware, Wire

Harnesses/Electrical, Fiberglass, and Room Slide out Systems.

o Saved $2 million dollars in a 4 month assignment.

o Addressed supplier issues associated with the business startup out of

bankruptcy.

o Implemented tracking process to prioritize resourcing efforts of

products previously supplied by Continental Imports (internal import

o Led and developed employees within supply chain group to include

Scheduling (Master Scheduler), Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse

Operations, and Logistics.

o Successfully completed 18 month turn-around in11 months to include the

addition of a bolt-on business that was purchased and moved to FL

operations.

o Monetized $20 million of excess inventory (allowing manufacturing to

change production line flow).

o Established chargeback system for defective materials (collected money

previously owed the company).

o Implemented line side storage for standard parts (supported by a water

spider) which targeted 70% of material usage.

o Established virtual line system (tracking flow of vehicles through

multiple buildings).

o Resourced MRO products providing SKU reduction, improving material

o Responsible for outsourcing seat manufacturing operations at Collins

Bus ($6 million project). Successfully negotiated cost savings,

reducing inventory to less than a day, and utilized manufacturing

space to expand small school bus operations.

o Built procurement department at Collins Bus to support consolidation

of 3 small bus facilities.

o Implemented a supplier evaluation (rating) system.

o Developed systems to support each subsidiary Procurement Manager (cost

analysis, commodity tracking, and supplier qualification).

o Planned and executed supplier initiative to engage top 20 suppliers in

each subsidiary to implement Kanban pull systems.

of Tomkins PLC)

o Led corporate procurement function supporting 11 plants with annual

purchases exceeding $200 million and supporting production of 1.6

million axles annually.

o Key commodities included Castings, Forgings, Coil Steel, Tubing, Steel

Bar Products, Taper Roller Bearings, Leaf Springs, Stampings, Friction

Materials (brake linings), Fasteners, and Machined Components.

o Developed supply base to support sales tripling during a 7 year period

(addition of 2 manufacturing facilities).

o Spear headed, developed and expanded international supplier base.

Developed the first direct sources in mainland China (to include but

not limited to brokers, warehousing, and logistics).
