Rinchem is a first party logistics provider of warehousing, and temperature-
controlled trucking of hazardous chemicals used in the semiconductor
manufacturing industry.
*Resuscitated a $4MM renovation project of a defunct plastics manufacturing
plant into a state-of-the-art hazardous materials distribution center;
*Obtained approvals for plans, permits, zoning and operating of a chemical
distribution center through direct contact with State and local
agencies/politicians;
*Developed potential client lists, entertained prospective clients and
presented the facility capabilities to current and prospective
customers/auditors; developed customized logistics solutions meeting
customer needs and quotations;
*Hired and trained start-up team of supervisors, warehouse tech's, customer

Jacobson is a third party logistics provider offering storage and order

distributorships. Product lines handled for 68 clients included hazardous
materials, general chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, general
commodities, and food.
*Successfully managed an $8MM operating budget, $1B inventory oversight in
three profit centers with an average monthly throughput of 20MM pounds
(imports/exports and domestic shipping) via small parcel, LTL, TL and full
or partial ocean containers.
* Planned and managed distribution center growth to a third profit center,
expansion from 310K sq. ft. to 530K sq. ft. and 30% increased headcount;
New England Retail Express, GE Division, Stoughton, MA 03/2003 - 12/2004
TERMINAL MANAGER (1 year, 9 months, laid-off due to loss of contract)
New England Retail is $50MM logistics provider to the furniture and
appliance industry. This GE contract was to provide warehousing, delivery
and installation of GE appliances to new home construction and reverse
logistics to residential customers. Position responsibilities included
leadership, recruitment, motivation and training of 35 Owner/Operator
delivery/installation teams on attainment of all key metrics of service,
safety and regulatory compliance (hours of service, qualification files,
and drug testing) and fiscal management of the $6MM contract.
*Implemented new inventory control procedures eliminating shrinkage;
* Reconciled $175,000 inventory deficit and freight claim;
* Stabilized an Ashley furniture cross-dock account by correcting massive
inventory issues allowing fulfillment of orders, also relocated inventory
and infrastructure on seven days notice;
*Created a safety program on driving habits, work practices, freight
protection and in-home damages ensuring DOT/FMCSR compliance and
Owner/Operator's business viability.
Hays Home Delivery, Haynes Furniture Group, Virginia Beach, VA 6/2000 -

Hays (now Diakon) was a $125MM logistics provider for furniture/appliance
retailers nationwide. This operation encompassed management of two
distribution centers, fielding a fleet of 25 trucks servicing a footprint
from the north side of Baltimore, MD to Hatteras, NC.
* Implemented new accounting procedures reducing Owner/Operator bad debt
from $250,000 to $30,000 locally, procedure subsequently implemented
nationally.
* Successfully managed rapid expansion (40% increase) in the last year of
the contract, exceeded 10% operating margin and budgeted objectives with
full P & L responsibility;
* Trimmed client damage claims from 10% to fewer than 3% of gross receipts;
* Reduced Owner/Operator turnover from 40% per year to near zero;
* Surpassed industry standards for delivery completion for two consecutive
years.
Atlantic Tankships, M/T Sea Venture, Norfolk, VA 05/1998 - 05/2000
PORT CAPTAIN (2 years, 0 months, left position due to 80% travel
requirement)
Atlantic Tankships operated a chemical tanker serving two primary customers
(Dow and ExxonMobil) moving bulk chemical commodities between plants and
delivering to customers. Port Captain responsibilities included oversight
of all regulatory compliance, presentation of the ship to regulatory
inspectors, logistic arrangements of port calls and cargo orders, planned
and emergency repairs, provisioning and crew changes, drafting and
implementing a training plan for U.S. implementation of international crew
training requirements;
