Provided leadership, planned, controlled and supervised the Human
Resources functions, OSHA compliance, Worker's Compensation,
General Liability, Auto Liability and DOT requirements for
five (5) milk processing plants (2 in Florida, 1 in South
Carolina, 1 in Georgia and 1 in Kentucky), and over thirty
(30) distribution facilities in seven (7) states with over

employee relations, hiring, discharging employees,
recruiting, health and dental insurance (self-insured plans),
401 (k) administration, EEOC claims, affirmative action
plans, auto, general liability and worker's compensation
issues, loss control issues, salary administration and all
facets of required training for OSHA and DOT compliance.
Various positions and with increased levels of responsibility
with Velda Farms starting as the Human Resources Manager for
the Northern Division of Velda Farms and within one year
assumed the duties of the Director of Human Resources,
Southeast Region.
Accomplishments include:
? Reduced turnover from 75% to less than 10% through revamping of
compensation system, promoting a positive culture, employee
referral system and enhanced Management training to be the
"Employer of Choice".
? Instituted a detailed Succession Planning Program (created an
in depth spreadsheet) to develop internal candidates for
promotion. This resulted in 35% of open positions filled
with promoted internal candidates.
? Promoted the Wellness Plan (Health Risk Assessments, Smoking
Cessations, etc) that enhanced employee health and to help
improve absenteeism. Participation increase every year by
40% with overall health claims reduced by 15% and absenteeism
decreased by 20%.
? Built a lasting relationship with a hostile union environment
by being proactive and negotiated five (5) contracts with two
different unions that benefited the Company by freezing the
pension plan (estimated savings of over $500,000) and
revamped the compensation program for Route Sales Drivers and
Transport Drivers.
? Reduced recruiting costs by utilizing, networking of contacts,
employee referral systems and unique on line strategies.
This resulted in a savings of over $100,000 during the first
year.
? Provided Union avoidance training for Non-Union facilities to
help facilitate the culture of each facility into a positive
and rewarding workplace.
? Developed and implemented a new Performance Appraisal process
for all management employees to enhance the Succession
Planning process for the Company.
? Instrumental team member in the implementation of the Key
Imperative Process that resulted in a $29 million dollars of
savings over a four (4) year period.
? Reduced Worker's Compensation costs (over $500,000) by
aggressive claims management and implementation of a light
duty program, along with enhanced safety training for all
employees.
? Oversaw the "Lock In Thought" (Trivac) training process that
resulted in reduced Worker's Compensation costs, enhancement
of the employee's knowledge of the Employee Guide to Policies
and Procedures, and a participation rate of over 95% of
employees completing at least four (4) modules over a period
of one year.
? Increased 401(k) participation at each location by 35% through
bi-annual meetings with employees and Human Resources
Representatives.
? Provided successful investigation and defense of all EEOC
charges that resulted in a "no cause" finding from the EEOC.
? Instituted and authored numerous policies such as Professionals
Policy for Route Sales Drivers, Safety Milk Money Policy,
Sick Day Policy, Vacation Policy.
? Completely edited and rewrote the Velda Farms Guide to Employee
Policies and Procedures.
? Trained all hourly and management employees for OSHA and DOT
compliance issues.
? Developed and implemented new hire orientation program for all
new employees.

staffing of all locations.
? Successful completion of onsite visits from the OFCCP and the
