highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, retaining walls and culverts.
Experienced in various phases of detailed design, inspection, and analysis
from the conceptual design phase through construction services. Experience
ranges from the design of reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed

Summary of Projects:
Gannett Fleming, Phoenix, AZ [2009-2010][2009-9/2010]
PHX Sky Train, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, AZ, City
of Phoenix Aviation Department. Project Cost 1.2 billion Structural
Engineer during final design of the PHX Sky Train, a predominantly elevated
guideway system with seven stations. The system connects three terminals,
two parking areas, a rental car center, and a ground transportation center
with a light rail transit interface. The project is being developed in two
stages. The design of stage one is being completed and it includes: 37
spans 3050 ft prestressed concrete u girders, 20 spans 2025 ft post
tensioned concrete box girders and 17 spans 2780 ft of steel plate and
steel box girders. Responsibilities include detail design of
superstructure including deck design, substructures ( columns, footing ( on
drilled shaft & spread). Supervision of junior engineers and computer-
aided drafting and design technicians, conducting independent design
calculation checks, shop plans reviews, responses to RFI's and performing
quality control reviews of plans and specifications.
AZTEC Engineering, Inc., Phoenix, AZ [2008-2009][2008-2009]
Higley Road Bridge Over Roosevelt Water Conservation District (RWCD)
Floodway, Gilbert, AZ, Town of Gilbert. [2008] [2008] Lead Structural
Engineer responsible for the design of improvements to Higley Road
beginning at the East Maricopa Floodway (EMF) and ending 1,370 feet north.
The improvements involved roadway, drainage, utilities, traffic, and bridge
work. The project included design details and layouts for the 378-foot-
long, six-span box beam EMF bridge and a 41-foot-long, single-span RWCD
Canal bridge. As part of the bridge widening, six precast, prestressed box
girders were added on both sides of the EMF bridge and 6 precast,
prestressed, voided slab girders were added to the Canal bridge. New
sidewalks were also added to both bridges and utilities conduits were
relocated and placed in the sidewalks. Responsibilities included
structural design of box girders, solid columns, and footings on the
drilled shafts. Also reviewed shop plans and provided post-design
coordination.
Rid Canal Bridge, North Miller Road Improvement, Phoenix, AZ, Town of
Buckeye.[2008] [2008] Structural Engineer responsible for the design and
preparation of a cost estimate for precast, prestressed voided slab
bridge.
S.R. 303L Bridge Review, Peoria, AZ, Arizona Department of
Transportation.[2008] [2008] Reviewer responsible for a complete
independent check and calculation of single-span,(AASHTO) Type VI girder
bridge over Caterpillar Wash.
Nebraska Department of Roads, Lincoln, NE [1995-2008] [1995-2008]
Load Rating Engineer, Bridge Division [2005-2008] [2005-2008] responsible
for supervising the Load Rating Section and performing load ratings and
structural evaluation of new and existing bridges. Providing recommendation
to counties and districts to increase or lower the posted capacity limit of
the posted bridge. Also responsible to analyzes and evaluate the oversize
and overweight trucks restricting or allowing them to move across the
national and state bridges in Nebraska. In coordination with University of
Nebraska at Lincoln, we developed a methodology for load rating of all
state and local bridges in Load factor method and created a summary sheet
for each bridge and the result was reported to National Bridge Inventory.
This was a massive effort of data collection and load rating of hundreds of
steel, timber, concrete, and truss bridges.
Structural Engineer, Bridge Division [2002-2005] [2002-2005] Structural
Engineer for the preliminary and final design of simple, complex, and multi-
span bridge projects. Responsible for checking and reviewing bridge plans
developed by consultants; checking and reviewing shop plans prepared by
fabricators; and reviewing specifications, estimates, and agreements.
U.S. Route 75 Over J Street, Omaha, NE. [2005] Lead Structural Engineer
responsible for the design of a 180-foot, multi-span, steel rolled bridge.
The bridge was widen to accommodate an additional lane and extending the
overhang at median to provided wider shoulder.
Albion Northeast Bridge, Boon County, NE. [2004-2005] Structural Engineer
responsible for the design of a three-span, prestressed concrete girder
bridge in accordance with (AASHTO) LRFD specifications.
Lincoln West Bridge, Lincoln, NE. [2004-2005] Lead Structural Engineer for
a $3.2 million, three-span, IT-400 girder. A 100 feet wide with a raised
median constructed in four phases and using temporary shoring.
Campbell West Bridge, Campbell, NE. [2004-2005]Reviewer of a three-span,
115-foot-long, reinforced concrete slab bridge located west of the city on
Nebraska Highway 4, with substructure supported on steel H-piles.
Osmand East Bridge, Osmand, NE. [2003-2004] Reviewer for a single-span, 70-
foot-long reinforced concrete slab bridge. An independent calculation was
performed for the superstructure and substructure.
Wellfleet South Bridge, North Platte, NE. [2002-2003] Lead Structural
Engineer for single-span, 135-foot skewed welded plate steel girders bridge
designed in accordance with (AASHTO) LRFD specifications. This bridge was
constructed in phase construction. Integral abutment, steel piles, steel
sheet pile, and U-type wing wall were used as part of the substructure of
the bridge.
Oshkosh Northwest, Oshkosh, NE. [2002-2003] Reviewer for a single-span,
142-foot, welded plate girders bridge over a railroad track. Responsible
for a complete independent check and calculation of the design of columns,
drilled shafts, and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls.
Project Design Manager, Roadway Design Division [1997-2002]
[1997-2002] Responsible for the detailed design of highways and urban
roadway projects from the conceptual phase to the final stage of
construction. Design included alignments and geometric design, sight
distance, driveways, retaining walls, at-grade intersections, modern
roundabouts, storm drainage, and culverts. Prepared cost estimates,
coordinated with the Right-of-Way Division for obtaining easements and
right-of-way, and coordinated with utilities to resolve conflicts. Was
responsible for coordinating with districts, the Federal Highway
Administration, consultants, and others during the preliminary and final
design phases of projects. Responsible for the review, processing, and
certifying of design plans developed by consultant engineers. Also
conducted plan-in-hand meetings and public information meetings and
reviewed and coordinated construction plans with project managers.
Blair South, Blair, NE. [1998-2000] Lead Engineer and Project Manager for
an $11.4 million 4 miles with 5 driving lane. A complete drainage system
was designed, including inlets, manhole, ditches, and culverts, to collect
the water from east side (hill side) and convey it to the other side under
the road. Mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls were used to limit the
taking of the right-of-way, and parking lots were design to accommodate a
nearby business for the loss of parking. A modern roundabout was designed
to channelize traffic and reduce the speed of truck traffic entering the
town.
Bridge and Roadway Construction Inspector, District 8: Responsible for
working out of the District's Ainsworth office to enforce compliance with
