Baltimore City Community College January 2010 - Present
Facilities Director
Presently acting as Director of Facilities, responsible for 60 FTEs in three distinct reporting areas.
Plant Management infrastructure, includes emergency generators, life safety, engineering and
Operations and Maintenance of multiple campuses. Environmental Services, includes all
housekeeping/janitorial service in multi shift coverage. Capital Project Management and Planning
presently covers in excess of 25 active projects, from de-commissioning of occupied facilities to
completion of on campus Child Care Center.
Wrote new procedures for CMMS process, reducing open tickets aged for over two years to average
of four days. Expected average closure rate is within two business days. Project Management team
now works to strict schedule, using in-house staff vs. outside contractors. Most recent project has
savings to the college $122,000 in A and E fees, in house construction etc.
CGSI, Baltimore, MD 11/2008-10/2009
Operations Manager with TS/SCI Clearance
Responsible for over 9MM sf of Class A office space, 250+ multi-shift FTEs, including all O and M
services. Wrote and implemented new policies and procedures for critical systems infrastructure,
clean room/lab environment, HVAC, plumbing, base electrical, site utilities, roads and grounds,
procurement, project/property management. Facilitated KPIs, resulting in a 40% cost reduction,
while increasing work order volume by 20%.
CIENA Corporation, Linthicum, MD 5/2006 – 11/2008
Global Facilities Director
Responsible for 20 full time staff, and 25 locations in Domestic US, EMEA, India, Latin America
and APAC. Total square footage exceeds 1.2 MM square ft. with controllable budget of over 6MM.
On target to reduce spending by over 700K through new policies and procedures. Responsibilities
include: Facilities and Project Management, (Baltimore, Md., Denver, Co., Alpharetta, Ga.,
Mainland China, Japan, India, UK) Headed lease administration team, including negotiations with
brokerage firms in domestic and global portfolio. Oversight of data center and clean room build
outs, tech lab environment, food services, reprographics, fitness centers etc. Managed

Assistant Vice President – Facilities Management –International & Domestic
Managed 120,000 square feet of Class A office spaces for Alliance Bernstein London, UK.
Domestic responsibilities included: facilities management, move management, procurement,&
coordination of build outs and expansions for 25 national offices in the Alliance Bernstein domestic
portfolio. In addition, my responsibilities included: Design & Construction, Security Services,
Reprographics, coordinate end-user programming for project completion on time & within budget,
bid procedure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404. Construction Projects completed in 2005 @
2MM include: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Atlanta, San Diego, Denver & Dallas.
Adecco - Johnson Controls – Johns Hopkins University, Sparks, Maryland 6/2004- 6/2005
Manage the implementation of energy conservation projects. Involved with: RFP preparation, bid
analysis, contractor interview process, permits and providing conceptual drawings utilizing
AutoCAD 2000. Projects included: air distribution, water conservation and HVAC controls. Worked
directly with Designers, Contractors, Facility Managers and Energy Consultants.

bringing it in under budget by $300,000 with completion ahead of schedule. Managed 225,000 sq.
ft. of Class A office space including Engineering infrastructure, Y2K compliance, disaster recovery,
planning, Project management, critical systems compliance, space planning and design.
Assistant Vice President – Facilities Management, 1982 – 1997
New York- Responsibilities spanned three metro New York offices and one regional office totaling
5000 people and included capital budget planning, disaster recovery planning, security and critical
systems, data center, large project design and construction and food services. Designed,
