Wisconsin 2004-2010

An international retail mail order and internet company with revenues of

over $250,000,000 The company has multiple brands including Walter Drake,

The Home Marketplace, Exposures Online, Easy Comforts, As We Change, and

Miles Kimball Candies.

Senior Network Administrator (2008-2010)

Managed all aspects of the Network and Infrastructure for the Miles Kimball

Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN)

. Saved the company over $200,000 by upgrading the network using the latest

best practices, utilizing VMware and a combination of company employees

and outside vendors. This allowed the company to save the cost of buying

a replacement unit for each server that was at end of life.

. Ensured the company's enterprise resource planning software, Dynamics AX,

could meet expected business demand. Identified servers in the production

environment, determined the correct configuration and implemented the

solution before rush season.

. Trained new Network Administrators while keeping the LAN/WAN environment

running effectively for the company. Using a combination of in-house

documentation and training, brought the new network administrators up to

speed to meet business expectations for the position. Network

administrators were trained and effective in their jobs in 90 days.

. Completed Audit and Compliance requirements including rewriting Sarbanes

Oxley (SOX) matrix for new audit company and answering to each Payment

Card Industry (PCI) standard during the yearly audit.

. Established Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance in time to receive a

$20,000 incentive from the acquiring bank. Created all documentation and

processes needed to meet PCI requirements.

. Established the framework for the Miles Kimball Sarbanes Oxley initiative

and successfully completed multiple audits.

. Successfully defended our PCI position to our acquiring bank after a

theft at a retail store.

Administrator (2004-2006)

One of 27 employees retained by the Miles Kimball Company after acquiring

. Established an office environment for the Walter Drake employees that

employees and connected them to the main office in Wisconsin.

project to upgrade over 800 workstations.

. Minimized downtime by organizing the move of all workstations, office

printers, and peripherals to a new facility. Created and led the project

to move into a new facility for over 300 workstations.

LAN Systems Manager (1994-2004)

Led a team of professionals that supported IT systems for over 600 users

. Managed, scheduled and developed full-time employees to effectively

support the Microsoft Windows server environment and Cisco switch, router

and firewall infrastructure.

. Managed helpdesk, Network Administration, and Computer operation

functions in a 7x24 environment.

. Maintained an annual budget of approximately $3 million, which included

upgrades, projects consumables such as toner and paper, and repairs.

. Led the project to upgrade all of the network components. Built the

project timeline, budget, risk analysis and presented the plan to the

executive leadership team. Engaged a combination of contractors and

company resources to replace 1firewall, 20 switches, and 15 servers

including application servers, file and print servers and system servers

such as DNS, DHCP, and AD.

. Led team that migrated from an IBM mainframe to an IBM iSeries saving the

company mainframe hosting costs. Built the project plan and budget,

presented to the CIO and implemented the transition plan.
