• Data-Intensive Computing Application on a Cloud Environment
PROJECTS
Designed a web app on the cloud for the purpose of content retrieval from a corpus of documents and doing data
intensive analysis over it. Tools:Eclipse J2EE,Google App Engine,Simple Web Crawler, HTML Parser,MySQL
• Relational Query Processor
Developed an initial relational query processor in Java that given a SQL query will be able to parse the SQL string,
validate it, create a logical query plan, execute the query against the stored relations and return the tuples of the query
result. Tools: Eclipse,JavaCC Parser
• Setting up a Kernel Based Locking Mechanism and Access Control Lists for the filesystem
Implemented a kernel-based locking mechanism for processes to create, set, destroy locks as well as set up ACL's for
specifying user permissions on a given file. Tools: C Editor,FreeBSD Server
•Designing a Disk and File System
Designed a disk like secondary storage server and a basic file system which acted as a client using the disk services
provided by the server. Also implemented the various disk scheduling algorithms and compared their performance. Tools:
Eclipse C/C++ Development Kit, FreeBSD Server.
• Interprocess Communication
Used system level calls such as fork, semaphores, mutex, and threads to solve the classical interprocess and
synchronization problems. Tools: Eclipse C/C++ Development Kit, FreeBSD Server.
• Secure Online Password Store
Currently designing an online application in C#.NET for storing confidential and sensitive data with special focus on the
security provided. Tools: Visual Studio 2010, SQL Server, .NET Cryptograpic Libraries
• Virtual Stock Exchange website
Built a dynamic website in C#.NET providing the users a virtual stock trading experience. Apart from basic transaction
capabilities users were also provided with real time updating of stock prices. Tools: MS Visual Studio 2008, MS SQL
Server 2005
• Wireless Network Simulation
Constructed a grid topology in a multihop environment and computed the throughput and delay metrics for the evaluation
of the network under various conditions. Tools: NS2, NAM
