Directed multiple ITIL v3 structured teams consisting of over 300 internal
associates, contractors, and outsourced professionals in the operational
support of 12,000+ FDA regulated systems to include VMware, Windows, UNIX,
LINUX, AS/400, Mainframe and supporting shared infrastructure consisting of
4+ PB of enterprise storage, data protection, & production control.
Oversaw operating expense budgets over $100 million.
Key Accomplishments:
. Managed operational requirements in the delivery of more than $8.5
million in annualized data center related savings through the
migration, consolidation, standardization, and the implementation of
virtualization technologies such as VMware and XenApp. Exceeded
initial projections by 40%, reduced the computing footprint by over
1,100 servers, closed 30 staffed data centers.
. Implemented organizational design and migration towards lower cost
labor markets. Assisted in the creation of ITIL based organizations
and processes that contributed to improved cycle times, customer
satisfaction, and overall quality improvement.
. Assisted in the delivery of a 3-year effort to return over $25 million
in annual savings. This significant accomplishment was attained
through the establishment of asset management strategies,
implementation of new technologies, and the consolidation of computing
and human resources which contributed to $4.5 million in annual
savings while shifting 57% of operational staff to an offshore model.

. Created global teams and established unified processes to facilitate
standard infrastructure in all regions. This led to reduced delivery
times by as much as 40%, increased customer satisfaction, and the
introduced measureable service levels.
. Managed the expansion of the computing base for central hosting of
global applications including SAP, JDE, and Siebel. Included the
installation, configuration, documentation, and operational support of
UNIX and Wintel server platforms as well as enterprise storage, data
protection, and production control.
. Managed the transition of over 500 terabytes of enterprise storage
from EMC Symmetrix to HP XP infrastructure attached to more than 400
UNIX servers. This standardization enabled increased discounts with
vendors while reducing consumption of data center environmental
elements.
