. Part of the team to implement a kanban system in compounds storage
areas. Developed layout in the areas assigned, marked locations
and painted locations in the floor, finally trained associates how
the kanban system works correctly. The impact was a reduction of
work in process inventory by 7.5%.
. Participated in TPM team (total productive maintenance) to
overhaul a cure press. I helped with "before and after" status of
the machine, basically the statistics of the project.
. Took part in a VRK (variation reduction by kaizen) team; helped
with data of production in order to monitor the progress of the
project. Tracked the project for 90 days after the implementation.
. Worked in a 5S team to improve a work station. Eliminated
everything but only kept tools and supplies to operate the
machine. Help to allocate tools within reach of the operator's
position.
. Contributed to create the first value stream mapping for
Goodyear's Topeka plant. One for Radial Truck business team and
one for Earthmover business team. Contributed to compile all
process times, changeover times, waste performance index, and in
process inventory for all machines involved in the study.
. Collaborated in standardizing operations using Maynard operation
sequence technique (MOST). Established a standard operations and
time for similar work sequences, making shorter time to produce
similar standard times. At same time, developed 10 standards in
building area which assisted in a 5% increase in production.
. Developed the machines capacity book plant wide leading a group of
three industrial engineers. Designed pages by machine, split the
work with engineers, tracked progress of the project, and combined
all machines pages and production areas into one electronic file.
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING MANAGER (Nov-2002 to Oct-2007)
. Worked with management team to produce the annual operation plan (AOP);
coordinated staff and manufacturing areas to integrate the final report
and have the job done on time by September.
. Proposed, analyzed and implemented new jobs in the plant, to improve
manning utilization for new machines, new processes, and job combinations.
. Implemented, tracked, and reported on monthly basis the cost savings in
manufacturing areas based on AOP document and the productivity plan.
. Coordinated, supervised, trained, and evaluated the job of two industrial
engineers. Responsible to produce and control annual budget in the
Industrial Engineering department.
. Assisted with cost data to implement the production bonus for Earthmover
Business team in 2006.
. Calculated manning budget for each area and department based on AOP
requirements.
. Reviewed and set up production capacity of the final finishing machines,
(CvsR spreadsheets).
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER (May-2001 to Oct-2002)
. Gathered, analyzed data, and then designed and implemented changes
in Mixing and Extruding areas to reduced bottlenecks and meet
production requirements.
. Contributed on developing a new machine standard in building area
based on new operations and new design.

certification in Mexico plant.
. Changed the layout to set a couple of machine nests to reduce
carcasses movement, improve floor shop utilization, and increase
passenger tire production by 9%.
. Active IE participation for implementing G3 full stage passenger
tire building machine at Mexico plant in 1999. Established the
standard work for G3 machine and worked in the layout to allocate
the materials storage for the machine.
. Led the Ergonomic team in Mixing department to improve safety
indicator by training, recording, and implementing changes to job
stations in extruders, beads, ply cutters, and belts cutters
machines.
