Work Experience
American Heat Transfer; Owner/Operator Spring Hill, Florida
2004-2009
Opened a final assembly, braze, and test manufacturing facility for heat
exchangers. I initially had 3 employees and had as many as 13 producing
heat exchangers from a non-ferrous raw material to a finished
welded/brazed and hydrostatically tested product. Installed quality
inspection points during production runs to decrease spoilage and increase
production.
I established a new standardized operating procedure sequence that
reduced rejections at final inspection from over 25% to less than 1%.
Monitor Products; Plant Manager Brooksville,
Florida 1999-2004
Began a satellite manufacturing facility with 10 initial employees to
produce heat exchangers. I developed the operation into a full
manufacturing facility from raw material to finish product within 2 years.
I Hired and trained 5 lead supervisors to oversee 90+ employees. I boosted
new hire productivity by 20% though development of a comprehensive training
program that included manual dexterity testing and video & classroom
training. I Increased production from 5 to over 7 million dollars. I
implemented the manufacturing software for process control and production
scheduling. I oversaw purchasing requirements and engineering projects as
they supported production. My responsibilities included reviewing
operational procedures, customer drawings, and component prints for quality
and manufacturability issues. I facilitated the implementation of ISO
9002.
Ball Corporation; Production Supervisor Tampa, Florida
1998-1999
Overseeing 170 union workers in a high speed 24 hour/7 days a week
production setting. We produced from raw flat coil material, a 2 piece
decorated aluminum can. I managed the personnel and resource requirements.
My responsibilities included can decoration & registration, and verifying
the can body meeting quality standards for dimension and performance thru
CGMP's.
Champ Products Inc; Production Manager Sarasota, Florida
1987-1998
Planned and executed the relocation of their manufacturing facility to
Sarasota Florida. I partnered with the area Vo-Tech to help recruit, hire,
and train the 12 initial employees, while I set up the warehouse with
tooling and machinery. Under this arraignment I was able to produce from
raw material a finish product in less than 1 month. In 1994 I planned and
executed the consolidation of both manufacturing facilities to Sarasota
Florida. There, I managed 4 supervisors to oversee 90 line workers.
Increasing production from 1 million to over 6 million dollars while
implementing ISO9002 and QS9000 Quality systems.
