Contracted to Hamilton Sundstrand to finalize domestic and foreign military contracts

June 1996 – October 2004 - Operations Manager – Hamilton Sundstrand (S.L.S) Space Land & Sea

Space, Land and Sea is the NASA, domestic and foreign military division of Hamilton Sundstrand. It is a make to order

business with 80% purchase and 20% manufacturing content. We were responsible for Assembly, Test, Purchasing,

Planning and Shipping. Our supply base consisted of sole source suppliers with fixed price contracts. In a banner year

statistics were:

• sales of $160 million, 15% R.O.A and 20% inventory reduction

• 10% cost reduction and a 5% increase in margin.

• We achieved ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence) at the silver level.

• The team was unique in that we maintained direct customer interface through the Program office.

May 1994 – May 1996 – Material Manager – Sullair Corp. Michigan City, IN a division of Hamilton Sundstrand

Sullair is a make to stock and make to order commercial compressor company. It had 90% purchase and 10%

manufacturing content. There were many challenges in this growing business. We changed them to opportunities. Using a

variety of management tools and concepts, we revamped planning product structures, production control and purchasing.

Results of our efforts were:

• Established an offshore supply base to supply global operations.

• Reduced container shipment cost 40%

• Eliminated 2/3 of our domestic supplier base reducing cost and increased leverage

• Reduced inventory 30% by eliminating product structure errors, duplication and obsolescence

• Improved on time to stock and on time to customer from 68% to 90%

• Reduced delinquency to no more than two weeks.

March 1988 – April 1994 – Material Manager – Sundstrand Aerospace Denver Co

Sundstrand Denver, an aerospace manufacturing facility with special processes and design capabilities to meet our

customer needs. The plant site had 500 employees, processed 1.5 million standard hours of work per year.

2. Used MRP and CRP Systems to schedule and manage production flow

Prevented up and down stream bottle necks bottle necks by operational off loading

4. Raw material, bar stock and castings purchased and administered for US and Singapore operations at the Denver

facility

Accomplishments for the plant site were:

1. reduced operating cost from $138 per hour to $98 per hour

improved efficiency from 76% to 89% and reduced scrap 8%
