Skills Summary
I have more than * years of experience as a System Analysis II for
University System of Georgia working with Oracle RDMS storage and Java for
user interface. Working as a team and using the Oracle Data Warehouse
concept, I helped design, and build up to six data marts that extract data
from the 35 Public Universities and the Department of Education. These
include PeopleSoft financial information and all student, class,
facilities, and teacher information. I have designed and implemented
complicated ERP marts using the Oracle Warehouse method. I have also
created these databases and designed maps to extract data from a distant
source, including, sometimes, flat file loading using Unix shell scripts.
I am proficient using Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Designer, and TOAD
for Extraction and Transformation and Load (ETL). I am also proficient
using Oracle Reports Builder, Oracle JDeveloper, and Oracle Portal Designer
for third tier access. I was Oracle trained in all Oracle ETL and web
presentation tools. I used Subversion for change management, and Project
and Remedy for project and task management. Among my additional duties was
support of existing collection systems, creation of technical support
documentation, user documentation and user training.
Experience
Resultz Staffing, Atlanta
10/09 - 03/10
Instructor
10/09 Oracle Instructor - I instructed Oracle Partner Developers on
Oracle 10g R3: Build Web
- 09/08 Services, and Oracle Database 10g: XML Fundamentals classes. This
involved travel to Partner site to instruct these two Oracle
University classes.
University System of Georgia, Athens
10/99 - 09/08
Systems Analyst II, Database Intervention and Program Development
05/08 PL/SQL / Java Developer - I was tasked to change the Java editor
used for student
- 09/08 data extracted from all 35 institutions to a PL/SQL package. This
increased performance and decrease process time by half. Tools used
were Jdeveloper, Oracle Warehouse Builder and TOAD. Concurrent
duties were to update Oracle Workflow and Oracle Warehouse Builder
with the latest editor and update user documentation on Oracle
Portal.
01/08 PL/SQL Developer - My specific task was to supervise development
work required to change
- 05/08 database's from 9i to 10g. Large tables were partitioned by
institution's FICE code for performance reasons. Large amounts of
archived information were moved using PL/SQL. Existing maps were
loaded into the new Oracle Warehouse Builder for 10g and reworked to
utilize new performance advances.
12/07 ETL Developer - Selected to create a summary mart for all graduates
of the 35 Georgia
- 01/08 institutions. Working alone, I created all areas of this mart.
Included were data mart design, extraction, editing, transformation,
and load. ETL was a custom PL/SQL packages that gleamed data from
other data marts presently in the data warehouse. In addition, I
wrote the Oracle Portal interface and all portal reports for
presentation of this data. Tools used were Oracle Warehouse Builder
(10g version which includes Oracle Designer), Jdeveloper for
Portlets, TOAD for materialized views of summary data, and Oracle
Portal for simple reports and presentation.
10/06 ETL Developer - As a member of a three person development team
developing an Oracle
- 12/07 Data Warehouse to archive educational post graduate success
tracking data for teachers educated by Georgia Public Institutions.
This Georgia DOE project received information on all teachers
graduating from any Georgia University. Additional information was
extracted from Federal sources to track out of state teachers. My
specific task was to develop the warehouse mart using Oracle
Designer and to create a flat file loading system using Oracle
SQLoader, SSH embedded in HTML and Unix Shellscript. The HTML I
created was made dynamic by Oracle PL/SQL for Web. After login the
user transferred file information and triggered a Unix Shellscript
to start the SQLoader which loaded the information into the data
warehouse staging area mimic tables. The Unix Shellscript then ran
maps created by other team members to complete editing,
transformation and load into the data mart. Additional duties were
to perform system support for other aging data collection programs
using ProC and C++ and update user documentation.
01/06 ETL Developer - As a member of a three person development team
developing an Oracle
- 10/06 Data Warehouse to archive financial data for faculty
assigned to Georgia Public Institutions. My specific task was to
develop PL/SQL maps to edit, transform and load data into the 9i
data warehouse. Tools used were Oracle Warehouse Builder and TOAD.
Advanced editing and transformation was done using stored PL/SQL
packages, materialized views and database triggers. I also wrote
financial reports for display to users via the internet. These
reports were presented using Oracle Portal. Tools used were Oracle
Reports Builder and TOAD. I also provided online user documentation
with static HTML.
04/03 ETL Developer - As a member of a five person development team
developing an Oracle
- 01/06 Data Warehouse to archive administrative data for students
attending Georgia Public Institutions. This data is collected from
all 35 institutions using PL/SQL stored packages. Every item
pertaining to the student was collected from the day they applied
until graduation day. My specific task was to develop PL/SQL maps
to extract, transform and load data into the 9i data warehouse.
During transformation of the data, editing was done with custom Java
procedure. Tools used were Oracle Warehouse Builder and TOAD.
Concurrent duties were to update and move legacy systems to a 9i
database and ultimately load archived data into the developed
warehouse.
10/99 Java Developer - As a member of a three person development team
developing a Faculty
04/03 Information System, I was responsible for all Java interface with
user and database. The Faculty Information System gathers
information online for all Faculty employed by the 35 institutions.
This responsibility included presenting information from an Oracle
database to users and gathering information from user and storing
the information back to the database. Tools used were Jdeveloper
for Java Servlets and TOAD for SQL thru a JDBC connection. Online
documentation was provided by static HTML. Editing of data was done
with embedded Jscript. I developed all PL/SQL packages and SQL DML
used to tune data storage and retrieval from an Oracle 8i database.
Additional duties were to perform system support for Y2K remediation
for other data collection programs using ProC and C++ and update
user documentation.
